I have a Garmin Fortrex 701 with Applied Ballistics, and I felt real uneasy and actually quite nervous plugging various field data and firearm data into this device while out in the woods all alone. Like if they were looking for an opportunity to do something, they basically can do what they want whenever they want l

Marathon GSAR (Medium). It’s an automatic dive watch with tritium tubes in the hands and on the dial. The full-size version is (rarely) issued to US, Canadian, and Israeli military personnel. They also make a quartz version that’s a bit less pricey.

although, I'll probably never spend more than a few hundred on a watch because I tend to beat them up. I would kill my self to spend $$$ on a watch and then smash it. I also don't dress formal often enough to justify spending that much on a "nice" watch to sit in a box.

>Unreliable ABC Functionality
I'm a bit hesitant to agree. It's not uncommon that the user doesn't understand how those functions work exactly. Traverse has a GPS-assisted altimeter, so it's quite foolproof but Core and other older Suunto models rely only on the barometer. In automatic mode the watch tries to figure out whether your elevation or the weather is changing and it works well if you're actually climbing a mountain but it's not meant to be used in every situation. The watch will get confused sooner or later. Also the need for regular calibration is not an indication that the meters aren't working properly, it's a requisite.
