Looks like my hair if I visit my barber every 4 months. Mr. Delon seems to have less volume (or has a ton of product or is already wet). I don't have a name for it, but I usually ask my hairdresser to trim my sides and leave the top long so I can part it on the side. Hope that makes sense.
Mr. Delon's hair could resemble - for anyone that had long hair - like the awkward growing up phase where it looks like a helmet.
Keep in mind he is Alain Delon and is a fucking chad. He'd look great anyhow.

Blog post warning.

Finally finished my Wafts from the Loft video binge. I love listening to people talk about their passions. Those two have that in spades. One thing I found is I’m almost a little disappointed with myself. I got in to fragrances a couple of years ago. All of the 30ish fragrances I own are in the designer realm. I have TF Private Blends and a couple of Creeds. Acqua Di Parma, I suppose is niche. But otherwise it’s big names. It’s strange really because that’s not normally my style. When it comes to films I watch them from all decades, all countries. The same for music. I love art, modern art fascinates me. Even if I don’t understand things I appreciate the passion behind them. And yet when it comes to fragrances I was drawn to the big designer brands, which is almost the antithesis of what I’d normally do. Not that these fragrances can’t be good, but I find that they way they speak about independent perfumers or houses is more in keeping with what attracts me to certain bands or films. I wonder how different things would be for my own appreciation of fragrances if I sampled lots of high quality, niche brands rather than a few designer ones. I think I’m done with full bottles for a while and would much rather start sampling more niche stuff to broaden my horizons. If nothing else smelling lots of different thins might help me appreciate the ones I have already.

Time well spent watching their videos, I’d say. I just wish Dan would stop interrupting so much. Great couple of lads though, might have to make a pilgrimage to St Vedast.

Yeah, Drakkar is incredibly based. It has a nice woodsy and smoky aspect to counteract the synthetic soapy dihydromyrcenol. I like Paco Rabanne ph but I can understand why it's a bit overbearing. It's very "poofy" or "billowy" for lack of a better term. Unshakable image of talcum powder, chest hair and moist bathroom air. Only a tiny bit of dihydromyrcenol in PRPH but when you do catch it it's the most heavenly laundry smell ever. Lots of super sweet tobacco and coumarin in the base drown it out too much and make it too splashy and wet I think.

My 5ml decant of Ambra Aurea should be with me tomorrow. Looking forward to test how animalic ambegris is there. It's also the threadly reminder that sampling/decanting is the only reasonable way around this hobby. I really like Profumum Roma and have decants of Acqua Viva, Acqua di Sale, Orangea, Ichnusa and now Ambra Aurea on the way. Given how potent this juice is it's enough for at least a year of wearing them whenever I feel like among other stuff in my rotation without need to spend $1300 on full bottles that I'd probably never finish.

I do 5 sprays in various places or vintage stuff. It lasts forever and I can smell it on my clothes pretty much indefinetly, but I like to be noticed.
Plus it's such a natural smell that you can get away with it.
I'd like to point out a couple things:
1. Kouros is a summer fragrance. Maybe not exclusively summer, but when it's hot, and you sweat, you get MASSIVE sweetness and totally different notes. It smells amazing.
2. Things like Invictus Legend are capable of doing only one spray, and being noticed by the entire room.

So my frangrances came in the mail, and I have to admit you guys were right. It was a dumb idea to purchase bottles this size without knowing what any of them smelled like first.

The Burberry London smells like garbage, I really don't like it. Nautica is meh but it was dirt cheap so I don't mind. I have never bought any fragrances before but the second I smelled the Sauvage EDT I knew that I recognized it, it's really that popular I guess. I like the afternotes with F by Ferragamo. I don't know how good of an idea this is but I've been layering Sauvage with Nautica, it's kind of hard not to overdo but I think I've found a decent balance.

Wearing cologne fucking helps a ton I used to use Old Spice in a spray can and since I've flipped over I've been getting a ton of compliments. If anybody has recommendations for samples I should look into I'd appreciate it, next time I won't be so retarded before I make a purchase, lesson learned.

>> No.15187087

>>15187071
Most of the subscription services have a pretty poor selection, usually just generic designer stuff and maybe a few entry-level niche frags. Plus, you’re only getting to sample one thing a month, and 10mls is way more than you need to sample something.

I’d go on surrendertochance and order a few of their sample sets, that should give you a decent selection of classic designers and a couple niche, then you can branch out and order individual samples that interest you or order sample sets from particular houses. I think when I was starting out, I got their Creed, Amouage, and Tom Ford sets.

You’re much better off doing your own research and picking scents yourself that you’re interested in.

the $340 pure parfum is the dankest stuff with the most concentrated expensive ingrediants, but its an overpriced meme because after all the reformulations and actual missing ingredients post-1980 or whatever its not the same no 5.

L'eau isn't even the same perfume as the other two, but if you are talking about the normal No.5 EDT its the same price as EDP and when you get into high-end designer fragrances it means very little other than just how its blended/formulated. *usually* EDT are considered lighter/causal easier to wear and not as high silage but in practice that is more of generality than a rule.

In case you were curiously, the No 5 EDT is the only modern version of No 5 worth buying. The pure parfum from the 70s or earlier (that hasn't turned or evaporated) is the holy grail for no 5 as a whole and the closest to the original formula from the 20s (but still very different)

So this arthoe came yesterday and I went for Penhaligon's Sartorial at the end of the day. Next time I might go for Kouros but I didn't feel like last night. We ordered pizza, talked and fucked over and over again. It's amazing what girls will tell you if you make clear that you don't want anything but sex from them and ensure that you're not going to judge them on the other hand. Apparently her first boyfriend was this weird shy guy who lost his virginity to her at the age 22. I was sure that you find this kind of people only on reddit before I talked to her lol. At some point during their long distance relationship he told her out of the blue 'I bet you can't suck a dick over next 24h haha' and she was confused but said that sure I can download Tinder and do it to tease him back and then he said 'send me a video to prove it'. She got pissed off and did that. Since then he requested her to send him videos of her being fucked by other guys. Crazy shit and I can clearly see how it fucked her for life. She also told me about threesomes she had and how to get them and I'm now angling for one as she's apparently into girls too. Today I'm wearing Aqua di Sale as the weather is very gloomy, I can hear rain hitting my windowsill and I have a bit reflexive day after hearing all stories yesterday about this guy. What are you reading these days, lads? I bought a bunch of stuff at the beginning of the quarantine, making my way through it now. This book is really good, it's like the non-fiction version of Tolstoi's War and Peace. Super comfy story with all the behind-the-scenes of Napoleon's fall and the ensuing peace negotiations, where Germany, Russia, Austria and England basically split up Europe between themselves. I'm waiting for Sebald's The Emigrants to arrive as well.

There was a house that claimed to be selling Napoleon's favorite fragance, the one he put on before going to battle. Can anybody remember what that was? It's been mentioned here on /frag/ a bit.

Zamoyski is based, one of the most renowned Polish writers who has been the candidate for the Nobel Prize in Lit for many, many years. However, Tokarczuk got it last year. If you like this book then you should defo try The Books of Jacob. I don't know if it's translated already to English but that's a monumental work of fiction in a non-fiction setting. Yes, I actually read almost everything that he wrote. He, Sebald and Krasznahorkai definitely share this similar melancholic central-european vibe that I enjoy severely in their literature. Bernhard is way darker than Sebald though. The Loser and The Lime Works are probably in my top 5 books I ever read. However if you won't like one of his books, you'll probably not like any. He's a bit similar to Houellebecq in having a couple of leitmotifs that always serve as background for all stories. Misunderstood genius, madness of self-imposed isolation, introspective journey following someone else's foothpath etc.

We make it up for them, I spray it, compare the one we made to the colour they requested and I have to say if it’s correct or not. If not I have to put it right. Quite a lot of pressure to think that I’m approving stuff to go on people’s Aston Martins or Ferraris. Or in this case actual Formula 1 cars.

Rotation/casino anon here, I'm at home but on full basic pay although I'm starting to miss work after six weeks or so now. Probably going to be a long time, maybe until as late as Christmas until I can work again. Good and bad really, nice practically being a NEET for the rest of this year but still getting full basic pay although but I miss the tips because that's really where I find most of the money for frags and other throwaway stuff. That said, do wonder what good it's going to do my health since I seem to be drinking a lot and took up smoking cigars again now I have the free time and better weather to sit around in the garden smoking them.

Haven't brought a full bottle since just before the lockdown but I'm probably going to get one or two new summer ones soon. Torn at the moment between Sole di Postiano and AdP Arancia di Capri. Bit dissapointed the corona sales haven't been as good as I'd have expected, haven't seen anything I really want going at good prices since I got the MDCI ones with 25% off. Almost run out of samples and decants for the first time since I started buying them, that's one of the surprises of the lockdown; I'm actually using the lot up now.

Could be a skin chemistry thing thing then. I find ACDD louder but at the same time smoother and more rounded. LDDM at least on my skin smells spicier and sharper, had both positive and negative comments on a regular customer who also owns it noticing and enjoying it to 'that smells like you're wearing curry' from a relative. The latter I see a bit of but only really in the opening when I notice the cumin more. It's nowhere near Journey Man though in that regard, that just smells like curry in the opening rather than part of a blend of different scents.

We make that joke a lot. There’s a globally recognised test that’s used to discern your ability to do it. You’d be surprised how fussy some cunts are. You could get a damn near perfect match and they’d send it back because they sprayed it wrong. If you own a car with a metallic finish I hope you appreciate how difficult it is to get that right.

It’s definitely one of those jobs that most people never even consider despite the fact cars are so common.

Any of you guys by chance Kourosposter? Remember reading he was a /lit/fag who mosied on over here and dropped hallucinatory haunting precautionary tales.

The whole point of the fragrance is to smell like the aftermath of sex. I'd wear it anytime, but when you're sweaty and sticky on a hot summer day, it brings out all the sexual energy of the frag.

I started posting on 4chan in late ‘06 I think. It’s a miracle I haven’t become an incel. Instead I’m a guy that discovered cool video games, great music and films, an interest in photography and fragrances and cooking. Apparently life just went in such a way for me that I never had a gf. I haven’t had a bad life so I’m not too worried.

Parfums Vintage just released another 2 versions of Aventus. They have what, like 15 different versions now? That seems like way too many. They can’t be THAT different from each other to warrant that many. Does 5% more pineapple or whatever really justify an entire new release?

Given Creed’s quality control they probably have 50 editions of Aventus so Parfums Vintage are slacking.

Yeah I agree. They used to have a place on the market but at this point when they got as expensive as a big decant of the actual Aventus it's ridiculous

I was there on that thread when the original snice pic was posted. Never knew it was actually her, I didn't follow the whole saga that closely. Was it Roja Enigma she was wearing on that flight? It was some Roja, I'm pretty sure.

I remember something similar. But I think it was someone else who was saying that waitresses and staff treat them differently when they wear expensive fragrances like Roja and then she chimed in about the compliment she got on a plane.

>Malle (Une Rose)
I paid way too much just for a sample of this shit, but it is the best "true" commercial rose perfume I've ever encountered. The price is unjustifiable though, and Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's "Rose Red Perfume Oil" LE smells VERY close and a fraction of the price. The only thing it lacks is the wine and patchouli, but it does have those sharp green notes from the stem.

Only downside is you have to do your own perfumers alcohol mixing for similar silage/duration and I haven't fucked with that yet.
