Create something.
It can be literally anything from painting, playing an instrument, drawing, creative writing, designing something.
Really anything that doesn't involve consuming or buying something pre-existing to then claim that you identify through it.
Your brain is built to employ its inherent aptitude to understand the world around you and then transform parts of the external world to your desires. That's where real satisfaction comes from.
To put it simply "I made this" is a much more satisfying and deeper feeling than "I bought/consumed this"

Working on watches is a profession that has massive potential for a hobby.
Simply buying them and looking at them doesn't.

>The reason I'm wanting a SBBN025 is because I hear it's ridiculously accurate, and quite frankly I don't want to bring the SBDB013 to work at the Redbull drinkery, where I work as first roarer on the night shift, since it could get banged up.
WTF is a redbull drinkery?
>I'm also considering getting an Isofrane strap for it, so I can wear it over my drysuit - it's really not a big thing, but I think it's stupid when divers like the Ploprof and the Tuna can't fit over the cuff of a drysuit on their OEM bracelet and/or band. To be sure, my computer (Suunto Vyper Novo) fits and does all that a diving watch does and more, but I feel that including an extra extension piece as a courtesy to anyone who would want to take their diving watches out diving should be expected.
Whoa!
A guy who actually uses his dive watches diving?! Can I suck your dick, please? (no homo!)
But seriously, post some wristshots!
And I agree, it's quite ridiculous that they don't ship their overpriced watches with an actual diving wristband. It's not like adding such a thing would noticeably drive down their fat margins, and the whole watch lives on the whole
>Well, I could use it diving, if I wanted to
image, so they might as well go the whole way. Otherwise they could just skimp on the water proofeness or make the dive bezel non-turnable. That would also make them cheaper without hurting the looks, so that really is a bummer.

There are lots of quartz moonphase watches. That is probably your best bet since the moonphase complication is rare in general and on automatics it's put on "show off" models that are both very ornate and expensive.
The Citizen Calendrier is cool. 300-400 dollars all day and it's a solar powered perpetual calender with moonphase. A very high class watch from a good manufacturer at reasonable price, and it's got just enough modern styling to make it not too formal.

The Spring Drive works beautifully. I haven't measured exactly for one month, but it was at -10s after 23 days, so it should be well within the -15s a month I think it promises. I'm really curious about the new GS Spring Drive movements, which promise -10s a month while being thinner, and would love to try the SLGA001, but chances of that are slim since it's a limited edition and I live a way aways from anyone who carries GS.

The OEM strap is actually very comfortable and soft, so I don't mind it that much. I also feel like I should clarify that the only gripe I have with OEM straps and bracelets being short only applies to drysuit diving, which is a thing only some professionals and northerners deal with. For the rest of the world, it will fit brilliantly on a wetsuit or bare wrist.

I wouldn't know, as I haven't tried it. The bracelet looks cool, though. How is the precision? I was a bit prejudiced towards the quartz models of the Tuna when I bought mine, but I've since heard that Seiko's 7c46 movements are very precise, and have a cool thing going where the seconds will start skipping every two seconds if it's running low on battery. Of course, that can take a while, but even so, 5+years of moving those huge hands and changing date and (on some models) day, that's pretty impressive

I love my SBBN031; it's the smallest and thinnest of all the 'real' tunas, the finishing is excellent, the movement is neat, the lume is nuclear, the seconds hand hits all the marks perfectly, the crystal is domed, ...
Accuracy is bretty good, like 4 seconds per month or something.
And I also actually like the day (in kanji) in addition to the date.

Still; I can't help wondering how it compares to those more upscale tunas.

That's in part what I want the SBBN025 for, I'm really digging the kanji date wheel. Never mind that until I learn what the kanji mean, I'll be like "today is looks-kinda-like-a-house-day".

>Still; I can't help wondering how it compares to those more upscale tunas.
I can get some wrist shots and get my caliper out for you when I get back home for sure.
That being said, it is a large watch, so the photos will not be very flattering, and it should be experienced firsthand. I didn't have the chance to try it on, but I was firmly set on buying it no matter what from the get-go.

"Influencers" are their own category of retard. The guy has to produce content for people to watch him, which means he doesn't have much choice except to constantly source new watches to talk about.
Now, why the hell a niche interest like watch collecting needs an entire ecosystem of influencers when most of the market is aimed largely at rich boomers who don't even use social media is another question entirely.

Actually, it looks like it's only the Master Chronometer models that have the display back. The regular ones seem to have the... Grille(?) back, not too different from the original, plus a date window. I'm not sure, but I think the non-MC versions also have a full lume bezel (which the MC models do not have). I'm kinda bummed about it, but whichever you get, I reckon it's still a solid timepiece and cool as all get-out.

Hey /wt/, I have found an old hand wound watch in some drawer in my grandfather's house. The problem is, it is ticking and working fine when it is placed upside down but when you flip it over, it stops working. You then have to flip it back down and shake it once to make it start again. I'm assuming some part of it comes loose when it is pulled down by gravity and you have to "pop" it back in by shaking. Is this easy to fix? Should I go get a watch kit to try and fix this? Or I shouldn't even bother?
