Honestly, I feel like there's nothing wrong with the style and that the jacket is fine as long as you switch it with something more subtle.
It's literally just boots, jeans, a henley and denim jacket. There's nothing wrong with that if anything it makes you look more mature than if you were to wear a hoodie and sneakers.
Then the scorpion jacket. It's not a bad jacket, it's just over the top on purpose because it's a movie prop. If you can find a jacket in that same style but in black or something and with no graphic on the back, there's no reason why you couldn't wear it and be totally fine. Same with the gloves, they don't really serve a purpose, but you could find a way to wear them, maybe in winter or something.
The reason these threads are still popping up almost a decade after the movie came out is because the style is timeless and still relevant. You could walk out of the house in the exact same outfit but without the scorpion jacket and no one would bat an eye. If anything, people would think you looked put together and mature.
