Northern Italy is absolutely loaded with manufacturing facilities.

In recent years they've approved 100,000 work visas for people from guess where? ... Yes China.

That Gucci, Prada, Fendi, Armani that's stamped "Made in Italy" is still made in Italy... Only now by Chinese migrant workers.

The Kung Flu epidemic over there took over after migrants went home for Chinese New Year. They brought it back. Infected the elderly.

Notice there are very little racial statistics ANYWHERE, but do the math, look at regional demographics, read between the lines and you can see why its so prevalent in the areas it is.

Also keep in mind Luxottica is based in Milan, and responsible for the manufacture of a serious catalog of branded eyewear.
RayBan, Bvlgari, Ralph Lauren, Polo Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabbana, D&G, Prada, Versace, Vogue, Versus, Giorgio Armani, and apparently Chanel although I don't remember them having the license for Chanel when I worked in an opticians.
They also own Oakley, although I'm not sure if they've integrated the manufacture of Oakley eyewear to their Milan factory - and I'm not sure if they're still making Paul Smith eyewear or not.

This is nothing new at all. Roberto Saviano's book, Gomorra, describes the start of it around 2004 or so. It's on the first chapter, a must read for anyone interested in the manufacturing aspect of fashion industry.

During those years, all textiles already came from China, and China sent shop workers to learn how to manufacture clothes. All supervisors and tailors were Italian. Not sure how it would be right now.
