Ok fuckers, let's update this chart. It's fairly good but it needs some refreshment as some of the stuff here is mislabeled, discontinued, showing too much of personal biases of the author or even obscure. The structure is great and descriptions are good too, let's just update content to make it more relevant and helpful. We can maybe add a new 'uncoventional' category. I'd suggest following assumptions
>we keep the structure of 4 frags in each subgroup
>for each subgroup we decide upon 1 relatively cheap and accessible fragrance - <$1/ml if possible, so the chart is helpful for everyone
>2 mid-priced fragrances between $1 and $2.5 per ml, so we can have interesting and varied choices
>1 more expensive >$2.5 per ml (if needed), so we can have snice niche things
>we pick only well-rated things as recommendations and try to give the priority to frags that are widely discussed in the community and of well deserved status
>while we obviously try to make choices as eponymous of the subgroup as possible, there's no point of having fragrances smelling virtually the same or clones - like Aventus and CDNI
>we try to keep houses on the chart varied to reflect many possible choices in modern niche perfumery

We've got only Chypres left.

Reposting: what did make you in fragheads /frag/?

For me it was my ex-girlfriend who was always saying how much she loves Dior Sauvage. The other time on the airport I went to the Dior booth and sniffed it. However, I was disgusted with the normie Johny Depp campaign and my natural contrarianism suggested me to don't buy it. I then looked around and saw Eau Sauvage line standing nearby. The simple, classy glass bottle design and the fresh Alain Delon campaign for Eau Sauvage Parfum 2017 got me hooked and I ended up buying a bottle of ESP. Then I started reading on internet about Edmond Roudnitska and soon after ended up on /frag/. I've sniffed 300+ fragrances and shitposted with you lads since then.

Before someone will suggest kicking out Mitsouko because it's a women's fragrance: this is the single most important Chypre in history. I think Mistouko and No. 5 must be a part any infographic like such. Secondly, there are plenty of guys like Wafts or our guy Eugenius wearing it.

Also, I want to say massive thanks for everyone who contributed to all of these. I wouldn't ever think of some of your recommendations and the meta discussions about it were also very helpful. I spent shitload of time researching frags in LT books and online resources, testing stuff that I didn't know on my skin in different shops and thinking how to balance it but I feel it was worth it. Even though it's only a draft that we'll probably be improving for some time (e.g. I think that 7 Tom Fords is way too much, we're also still quite far away from having an affordable option in every category etc.), I feel like we improved the previous version a lot and every single choice here is like a sniper shot serving some function. It's been a lot of work but I'm glad that we've made it to the end and didn't stop like last time. As always, share your thoughts on any choices in all categories and what we can possibly improve to make it even better. I'm going to bed now.

Bulgari Black is a very unique leather chypre where the leather has this rubber-quality. It's three dimensional and completely out of the box. On top of that it's really cheap and one of few fragrances that got 5/5 from our guy Turin.
Eldo Rien is a brilliant post-modern take on a chypre structures. replacing the classic bergamot-oakmoss structure of a chypre with aldehydes-leather is a work of genius. Also it's very wearable and from the brand (ELDO) that deserves to be on the chart more than once (we only have Jasmin et Cigarette on the chart from them).
Tuscan Leather is probably one of the most important niche gate keeping fragrances around. It's also a top 3 from Tom Ford.

Yes, and we got some good affordable fougeres that are not punchy juvenile vanilla-mint bombs. It's supposed to be an infographic for everyone also neophytes but there's no point of including stuff that everyone can learn about by reading ads on bus stops. It's just wasting space. We're not trying to give here an overview of bestsellers in 2010s. You can find these in these all self-repetitive rankings/'articles' on GQ or some trash men's lifestyle magazines. It should rather include quality stuff that would take some effort to discover or is available but would be just overlooked among all hype campaigns. Being a nichehead doesn't have anything to do with it (but obviously there's more interesting stuff happening in designer-niche/niche perfumery, so there's an obvious bias). It's a no from me.

Well, there’s kind of and end date here too. We will get a vaccine sooner or later, current estimates are 12-18 months, though it could be a bit sooner. But yeah, most of it is baseless hysteria fed by the media. The director of the WHO even said that the stigma is far more dangerous than the actual disease. You’d think after all the other epidemics and pandemics we’ve had over the last couple decades people would catch on that the media always does this, but I guess people just really are that fucking dumb.

Only Sarah McCartney can blend notes of rubber, vanilla, cannabis, tobacco, rum and brandy so perfectfully and light that you long for summer says in this cold, rainy beginning of March here in UK. Despite the heavy, wintery notes it's a truly and unapologetically summer fragrance that begs spraying on a chest and covering it with a shirt with three undone buttons and chatting up cuties over a Negroni at some bar at Portofino.
