I'm the guy who you said was the only person who knows what to look for while thrifting, but I don't agree with you. This is just the stuff that I look for. High end italian and english stuff, but people have different tastes and styles.

My style ends of being very conservative because of this and will not work for everyone. I'm close to 30 so it works for me, but if you're like 18-22, I doubt your going to want to sift through boomer businesswear like me or you might end up looking like this.

Well yeah there's other nice things to look for when thrifting, but there's no reason anyone should pass on a canali/zegna/kiton etc suit or blazer. Just resell it
Its also practically impossible to find nice clothes for other styles (ive only found rick owens once) unless you live near an amazing consignment store

>> No.15052465

>>15052451
Checking suits is time consuming, rarely hits, and the second hand market is quite bad actually. I think you can quick sell a Canali blazer for maybe $40. That's not necessarily worth your time (or at least my time) to pick up and flip. I always check overcoats though because the market for those is decent. I pretty much only thrift in my size and I basically only pick something up if it meets all these criteria:

1: I like it
2: It is in good condition
3: It fits well
4: It is a good brand, made in the EU/US or is of high end material

If it isn't all four I pass except on rare occasions where I think I can flip something or I think it's something I can transform.

There are used clothing resellers who make good living full time reselling from thrifting, is hard ass job but it can pay if you can commit to hard work.
For a casual thrift fags, when i find designer items mid to high end I put aside then send them to thread up lux. Of course have to be in sellable condition and right price to make profit. I recently picked up some lafayette148 jacket (not outdated) and some dries van noten shoes, when i have enough i just send it in make 300-800bucks depending on things i got.

A lot of different places in the wealthier suburbs of my city. Goodwills, Salvation Armies, Savers and Volunteers of Americas. The key is just to go semi frequently (whenever you have a free hour or whatever) and to check every item in the categories/sizes you are interested in.

I always check these categories every time and store in roughly this order:
1. Shoes
2. Belts, scarves, gloves and general accessories.
3. Button Up Shirts
4. Sweaters/long sleeve knits
5. Outerwear
