Ok fuckers, let's update this chart. It's fairly good but it needs some refreshment as some of the stuff here is mislabeled, discontinued, showing too much of personal biases of the author or even obscure. The structure is great and descriptions are good too, let's just update content to make it more relevant and helpful. We can maybe add a new 'uncoventional' category. I'd suggest following assumptions
>we keep the structure of 4 frags in each subgroup
>for each subgroup we decide upon 1 relatively cheap and accessible fragrance - <$1/ml if possible, so the chart is helpful for everyone
>2 mid-priced fragrances between $1 and $2.5 per ml, so we can have interesting and varied choices
>1 more expensive >$2.5 per ml (if needed), so we can have snice niche things
>we pick only well-rated things as recommendations and try to give the priority to frags that are widely discussed in the community and of well deserved status
>while we obviously try to make choices as eponymous of the subgroup as possible, there's no point of having fragrances smelling virtually the same or clones - like Aventus and CDNI
>we try to keep houses on the chart varied to reflect many possible choices in modern niche perfumery

How do we feel about including Walimah by Areej Le Dore to florientals as a sort of a bait for people to explore deeper into niche? It's such a unique and good fragrance that would fit the category perfectly. No point of including more as he produces extremely small batches but perhaps 1 should be alright. Also we should probably include Velvet/Black Orchid by Tom Ford. Despite being a women fragrance it's a very important floriental.

Just picked it up a few days ago, went in for the Luna Rossa Carbon, after falling in love with some samples. I tried Carbon Black, but didn't like it despite the rave reviews I've heard about it. However, after I tried this, I did something I normally never do and just bought it. Smells amazing, and it's the winter time, where I am. I can't wait to wear it in the spring/summer. I love fresh, soapy and or powdery scents and this is both.

Ok, trying Sloth now. First thing I’m getting in the opening is a big hit of animalic funk paired with spices and sort of an earthy thing, maybe the mushrooms. Definitely getting something oud-like. It’s already starting to settle down a bit, I’m starting to get these crisp fruity notes maybe apple, or almost sort of like a freshly cut tomato. Something very green-smelling in there as well.

Very odd stuff. Not quite sure what to make of it. I’d say I like it, though. Certainly more challenging than Bee and Squid, but there’s something undeniably relaxing about it. I will say I’m liking it more and more as it’s drying. There’s a sweet berry sort of note that’s starting to show up, I guess that’s be the açai. I don’t know if this one will be a big hit like Bee, but I think it’ll have its place. Very probably a cop for me.

Very interesting. It’s starting to turn into more of a dry-spicy kind of thing. I’d almost think there was vetiver in it, but it’s not listed. Getting a lot of the lavender, chamomile, and anise now. Jatamansi, according to google, is sort of spicy and resinous, seems kind of a bit like patchouli, and I think I’m smelling a lot of that. Very well blended, I keep getting big whiffs or something for a second or two, then I’m getting whiffs of something else. It’s dry, then it’s fruity, then it’s spicy, then it’s animalic. It keeps changing. I am very intrigued.

Just wear what you like just keep in mind that certain frags work better in certain weathers, for example a sweet-spicy scent would work great in cold weather but would be cloying and annoying in high heat whereas a fresh aquatic might seem underwhelming in cold weather but refreshing and invigorating in hot weather, that's pretty much all, you can just find one that works all year like acqua di gio profumo, Dylan blue, etc so that you avoid spending thousands like so many retards here

These days the last bespoke perfumer in country mostly makes fragrances based on existing designer perfumes. My everyday frag is a one he creates, and since the perfumer is nearing retirement I was always reassured that I'll just switch to the designer frag after he stops working. Alright gentleman, let's update Fougeres >>15045411. This is the draft I came up with. A quick Q to out friends from North America and EU: is Geo F Trumpers Paisley available there or it's just a British thing? I think this house is one of the best around in producing British timeless fragrances (very affordable too) but and would be worthy of including at least one from their line up (Sandalwood coming to mind too, but we've got to many in woody category already), but I'm not sure if one can get it everywhere else than UK.

As for Noir Extreme, I think you’re thinking of Beau Du Jour. He wanted Black Orchid to smell like a man’s crotch however. I adore Noir Extreme but more than many of of his fragrances it really straddles the line between male and female.

Has anyone here used pierre guillame 24 papyrus de ciene? Judging from the ingredients I expected it to smell a tad different buf in all honesty, it's almost identical to today's formulation of Kouros. While I didnt compare them directly by applying both at the same time, if anyone blind folded me and asked whats the smell of pg24 I would have said kouros without any doubts. Am I awfully wrong or the guys who shipped me the sample took from a wrong bottle?

I was in Vegas with a buddy years back, we were walking through the shops at Caesars and there was a Burberry store he wanted to go in. They’d recently released a new fragrance, I forget which one it is now, so they were pushing it pretty hard and the saleslady pretty much insisted we try it. I liked it, but opted not to buy at the time, but it did kind of get the wheels turning in my head, y’know? I got home from the trip and decided I wanted to get a nice fragrance for dates or whatever, and the rest is history. I think the first frag I wound up buying was ADG, but I can’t remember 100%. Nowadays, I’m a hardcore nichefag and wouldn’t touch the stuff, but those were fun times in their own way.

Has anybody tried this? I'm really curious about it after reading the story behind it: Roudnitska, the designer of Eau Sauvage, created this for his wife, and he let no one else wear it.

Bought Versace Pour Homme in 2013/14. Loved it then and still do.

Sniffed Oud Wood in 2017 at an airport. Came to /frag/ asking for recommendations for three fragrances that would suit different occasions. Bought ADG Profumo, Dior Homme Eau for Men, and Oud Wood.

Came back to /frag/ and now have 31 fragrances and have only left these threads periodically. Fuck you all, but also thanks.

I’ll also say that Delon was was attracted me to the Eau Sauvage fragrances. I ended up buying ESP and the original (albeit a new batch). Not a fan of the others in the line but those two are beautiful.

I'm looking for a spring/summer scent, but it seems to be that spring/summer scents are far more one-dimensional and less varied than their fall/winter counterparts. I don't want to simply smell like the coast (Acqua di Gio) or like a juicy freshly squeezed orange (Orange Sanguine). The cold season frags I have tell a story with their scents, and I'd like to be able to say the same about my warm season ones.
