Military manufacturing contracts are sold to the LOWEST bidder. Clothes are cheaply made and are not expected to last long. However, I still agree that this is far better than a lot of the new garbage that's out there.

Navy is phasing them out in favor a black gortex parka. Shame, but its really annoying have to lug a peacoat around as a required uniform item. I only used mine when I was back home in the midwest in civvies.

no. wearing the navy issue booter pea coat is as cringe as wearing any other basic-training-issued uniform item as civilian clothing, but this item in particular and your attraction to it really outs you as a special kind of autist. i'm impressed.

I have one. Good quality. Not a fan of the anchors on the buttons but thats an easy switch. Fair warning though, they constrict movement like a mother fucker. They are meant as a dress uniform coat.
