That's a Khaki King which is a different model from the Pilot Day/Date. They make an automatic Khaki King too. Hamilton doesn't make their own movements so it probably costs less to use the one with the day at 3 o' clock since it's a standard ETA that needs no modification while the Pilot needs some

Nautilus & Royal Oak - barely known outside watch circles and could be picked up for below retail prices.
Rolex - any steel sports watch. always in stock, never had to over pay. plenty of cheap vintage models available for people wanting to buy their first watch.

Festina is a company that basically does not matter to enthusiasts because they make decent but not innovative designs priced towards the casual market. They're fairly old but they don't seem to have a unique design language. If they did at some point, they lost it. I'm not really the biggest fan of darker dialed dress watches, and the SARW series have 4Hz movements instead of the 3Hz 6R15 used in most SARX watches. I personally think the SARW041 looks significantly better than the SARX you posted, but to each their own.

Apparently I'm retarded because I thought the watch you posted was in the SARX line even though it has the SPB in the filename. All the same, I actually like the power reserve indicator on the SARW. The date wheel isn't really my favorite thing in the world but I like the 4Hz movement and power reserve indicator in the 041 more than the more plain SARX055.

to be honest the sarw041's date wheel is the thing that kills it for me. I like power reserve indicators depending on the placement and seiko usually does a good job with them so they enhance the look of the watch, but date wheels are lame and I prefer a regular bordered date window at the 6.
honestly you can't really go wrong with a presage except I wish they would back off a little with their branding. it's the one thing I dislike about seiko, they need to slap PRESAGE on all their presage watches and the prospex logo on all their divers, and it's just another line of unnecessary stuff.

Citizen and Seiko both make several solar chronographs. They're accurate because they're quartz, they're around 150-200 dollars, they look good with some nice popping color options and interesting dials for engineering nerds and it's got the look racing fans love. Since they're solar you don't even have to think about them either. If you really want to splurge, look up the Bulova Moonwatch. It's got a very respectable history, as much credence to the name as Omega. It has that Speedmaster look but it's also got its own unique design, and it has a high frequency quartz so it has a sweeping seconds hand and is even more accurate than a normal quartz watch. That's around 300.

That's a shame. I'm a wristlet too so I know that feel and you're right, the moonwatch looks embarrassing on wristlets. Seikos tend to wear very well because they usually have a sloping lug thing going on. They also have a more classic, though still unique, look, while Citizen's style is edgier with some watches that straight up look like racing dials and go for brighter colors. But yeah take your pick.
