Alright reviewanon (so much longer than just typing the four letters I did yesterday), I've definitely come around on Bee. I'm assuming my parenthetical suggests who I am from last thread. Anyway, I fucking doused myself as I said, one spray on each arm, one on my throat, and one behind each ear (but I missed so they were more on the back of my neck). Ended up gassing up my fucking car, and I think I was almost high on the drive to work. Was really feeling the frag that whole point, as well as through the entire day. Kept practically huffing my arms with great frequency. Shit's addictive. I don't remember if it was you, but someone some time ago said something like it being bottled sex, and I kind of felt that. If you read last thread, I felt it smelled like urinal cakes at first, but I got used to it quickly. Do you have a sample or the actual bottle? According to reviewanon, whom I believe, the sample isn't terribly effective at conveying the truth of the scent, as the spray isn't remotely powerful. It barely shot out for me when I first tried it, so I just blasted myself with it this morning, and it was hard to ignore. It's been maybe 29 hours since I first sampled the fragrance? I'm already half-dedicated to fucking shilling it.

Need some opinion on this:

Bought 2 of these sets for $105 each. Want to give 1 to my brother as a bday gift, got one for myself.

If the small bottles are 10ml then keep the box and redeem for a bottle of the Armani Adg or YSL Y, since those are the ones that get discounted the least. 100ml ysl y + 70ml from the mini bottles for 100 bucks is a decent deal desu.
That way you have a big bottle for everyday and the small ones for variety. 10ml will last quite a while if you rotate.
Now you smell nice and have some choice. Better leave this place while you are ahead.

Theres really no reason to sample much more, they have a very extensive collection sure to please all types. I got into this about a year and a half ago, and bought some mallcore stuff, but then discovered the holy grail aka Zoologist. Im not really all that knowledgeable about fragrances in general, but I use them as a baseline to compare literally everything else to. Im totally infatuated with the whole brand, and I dont like recommending much of anything else to newbies. My sense of smell has improved so much after zoologist, I am now a hardcore anamalistic lover. Nothing really excites me much anymore that dosent have a little skank in the base, thats probably a result of my superior nose. Try squid, try dragonfly, try rhino, thats my standard response to anyone looking for something new if you want to turn pro in the perfume world.

Guy who recently tried Bee here. Squid is feeling pretty good as well. I spoke to Reviewanon in a thread the other day, agreeing that it's a "dark" smell, in contrast to the "day" stuff Victor says. I still believe this. I feel less like a Dagon and more like a Proteus, honestly. That is, it feels not so much animalic as it does like a shapshifting void of a water god, not the scent of a squidman but the scent of the incomprehensible abyss of the ocean. The squid wizard makes sense, less in the Lovecraft cosmic chaos magic sense, and more in the oracular mystique of Proteus's foresight. I don't know, maybe I'm forcing the analogy because of the /fraglit/ trend that popped up recently.

Anyway, not yet as convinced of Squid as I was of Bee. This still feels vaguely synthetic, as it did when I first tried my sample on Thursday. I can sniff my arm and "see" a deep blue in my mind, a blue which feels unnatural, contrived by human chemistry. There's a falsehood to Bee as well, but it's just so fucking warm and sexual that I can't help but feel life in it. Squid, I don't know. It seems harder to wrap my head around. Not that it's remotely "difficult," more that I'm probably just reading too deeply into what is ultimately "smelly water." Water-smelling smelly water. Very curious to try my hand (or, nose, rather) at other Zoologist scents. Does Victor include samples if you just order a travel decant?
