Been thinking about getting some loafers that I can wear everyday, from completely casual up to business casual (I rarely dress above that I’m 19) was thinking about weejuns in dark brown or pic related? Also loafers with shorts Y/N? It should be noted I don’t really dress preppy I was told to go here after asking this question in the boots general thread

Don't get those from the pic, are very hard to wear and will look out of place nearly everywhere. Same model in brown is far more versatile, if you get lighter browns instead of dark brown it can work well with shorts.

Suede tassel loafers, suede string loafers and bit loafers will look better with shorts imho

Reminder that to be TIP you must at least (minimum requirements):
>Be White
>Be of Anglo-Saxon or Celtic descent
>Be a Protestant Christian, preferably a Mainline Protestant (fundamentalist Christianity is for rednecks)
>Wear Classic Fit clothes exclusively
>Go to college or have gone to college
>Be in shape. Lardasses are not TIP
If you're non-white, your ancestors weren't from England, Scotland, Wales or at least Ireland, you're a Catholic (Kennedy is the ONLY exception), you wear slimshit, or you haven't received/aren't recieving a college education, then you can't be TIP. Period.

I have posted pics before of my fits, but my phone camera sucks and I don't really have a place to take good photos. Here's one of my earlier pictures. I really need some better solution.

I really like your fit, although I'd say the jacket's buttoning point looks a bit too high for my tastes. The slimness of the trousers isn't bad at all, they suit you and seem to be quite high rise.

This was also my first time finding good stuff on ebay, usually shopping for jackets just doesn't work without trying them on. This time, the yoke measure and the pit to pit measure were within 0,5cm of my MTM measurements, so I thought I would give it a shot. Just got lucky I suppose, because there are so many things that could still go wrong: arm / shoulder pitch, upper back / neck posture, armhole height etc.

The cut is cheap and horrible. The pants look really cool and billowy but it also accentuates your narrow shoulders. As a man small top with big bottom is a very unflattering silhouette.

I would have gone with the rugby going 1-2 sizes up so it's not overly constricting with the button down underneath and boxy enough that if you did tuck it in billows out just enough to remain boxy and keeping your silhouette more like a rectangle than a triangle.

There's a jacket at Goodwill that seems to be a sort of knockoff Harrington. It's tan with a plaid lining, but it doesn't have the elastic bottom, and the collar is pointed like a shirt collar instead of the button collar that a harrington has. Should I buy it or not? Additional question, is it acceptable to wear a tan jacket with khakis, or would that look too "matchy-matchy"? I like the way tan jackets look, but I almost always wear khakis, so I don't want to waste money on a jacket that I will barely ever wear.

You have to be careful what you want, these are both cable knit "sweaters" but the left one is obviously alot thinner and different function. I use to have this amazing Polo sweater cable knit it had these flecks in it, it was off white but I gave it away to charity. I still curse giving that away before I went into my all black avant garde phase. It was a fabulous sweater that was of very high quality, that was like 7 or 8 years ago though.

>Blackhorse Lane NW1 Denim

I have been eyeing a pair of their denim for a while, how is sizing, fit, and quality from them? Apparently they used to make Drake's denim, who was the brand to really make me want some nice jeans to wear with tailoring in the first place. More pics of the fit sans jacket would be appreciated too.

>> No.14939339

>>14939311
The quality is absolutely the best I have ever seen, really great in all aspects. You can read about their superior construction from permanentstyle's review. The fit is the best I have had, but it is of course subjective. I have a pretty large ass and legs compared to my waist, and my hips are quite "long" - my hip bone is very high up, and to get trousers to navel lavel requires a huge rise. The jeans sit at 1cm below the navel for me, and what I love is the fit in the ass - the back rise is very long compared to the long rise, resulting in a balanced fit for my bigger ass. The thigh measurements are good as well, they aren't proportionally as big as the back rise but big enough so that they fit very well. The fit is nice and straight, the hems at about 20cm.

I can post fit pics later on, but I really love the jeans and recommend them. The Drake's ones, I believe, are based on the E1 model, a much slimmer, tapered variation that didn't really fit me at all. The NW1 model is more relaxed and classic, harkening to the likes of Levis' 1955 501.

Then I think the jeans would be good for you! I paid full price minus the 17% discount one gets from the first order. Definitely quite expensive, but I wanted the best. I have since also bought ecru denim from Luxire with the near-same measurements (they are MTM after all) for 90 euros. If you want to go cheaper, buy the blackhorse ones, and if the measurements are good for you, return them and order from Luxire. They have good japanse selvedge denim from about 100€. Definitely not as good build quality as the NW1's, but also much cheaper.

>>14939477
It is the same one, yes. One of the best turtlenecks I have had, honestly. Not overly thin, meaning you won't see through it and it doesn't feel like a thin merino sweater; instead it feels like geelong. It is very warm and comfortable. The neck itself is possibly the best I've had in a turtleneck. It is very high and tight, and doesn't look sloppy or stretched after use.
I can't think of anything better for its price.

TIP is an ideation. It's a format for dressing yourself. However, the format a result of lifestyle. Just like any other core. Punk for instance, was a lifestyle, the clothes follow the lifestyle. What lifestyle do you lead? Understand your life and then use TIP as a guide. This is a Fashion board, it's not an exclusionary private club. It's not inclusionary either though. It's about having good taste, and cultivating your own sense of what fine casual clothing is. Separate the Fashion from the lifestyle, and what do you have left: lifeless clothing.

So in a sense, anon who comes here looking to "thrift" their way into "looking TIP", is foolish. Because they are putting the idealised lifestyle before their own taste. Taste is something you earn over time, with an educated mind but having good taste naturally comes from being in the upper echelons of life, because good things are expensive.
