I used to have this a while back- before I've gotten into fragrances and I've never realized until now that it's actually the aqua version and that it's discontinued. I'm kinda bother about it cuz I've loved it so much that I want another bottle. How different is it from the regular (current) Fahrenheit? Would I like the regular Fahrenheit just as much, if not more?

Reposting from last thread.

I'm pretty new to cologne, and for some reason I wanted one with a strong ambergris smell. I just ordered a bottle of this on sale, and I'm disappointed to see that in the seasonal charts Ive seen online nobody says that you can wear it in the winter. Is that true? I have a bottle of Nautical Voyage and it definitely wouldn't work well in the winter, is this the same case?

In other news, I might be unironically allergic to frags. I've had this annoying irritated and itchy rash on my neck since maybe summer (when I got Eros and Cool Water as my first frags), and the only major change was me starting to wear fragrances near daily. I've been avoiding spraying the front part of my neck with the rash, mostly because spraying that area now feels like battery acid, and it's still there. My doctor told me he had no idea what it was, and the hydrocortisone cream he prescribed has done fuck all.

In so far Verveine has by far the highest projection, but it's blackcurrant note is a bit annoying. Sel Marin smellss better, but its performance seems to be trash.
Remarkable people and Fat Eletrician are delicious. FE is pretty good on the drydown, and RP lost its "fanta" smell. somewhat. Sort of smells like redoxon now.
Alps suisse smells like a luxury Cool Water. Don't think i will get this one.

What does /frag/ think of Zara Scent #4?
Loved it at first because it smelled like fresh vanilla to me, but in winter it lost the vanilly note and was straight hars citrus. Sprayed it again today in my room and when I came back it smelled heavenly.

That was me. The TLDR is Date smells like Juicy Fruit gum layered over Office and smells like cheap, synthetic drugstore-tier swill. Virtus is actually pretty snice, but the drydown smells a bit too similar to CK One Shock. Not identical, but it’s like how TV smells like a fancier Snicebomb Extreme. Probably not worth the price, but at least /ourcuck/ seems to be trying to make niche-quality frags as opposed to Jeremy who’s very clearly phoning it in.

Also, I accidentally got sent two bottles of Virtus and they threw in some metal refillable travel atomizers, so I can’t complain too much.

>The beauty of the heart is in its bold blend of oakmoss, coumarin, and a notably polite sage, which segregate over time into their sheer myrcene, myrcenol, rhodinal, aniba rosaeodora, and pelargonium constituencies. (This translates to bay leaf, lavender, citron, rosewood, and geranium.) Smell it up close, and the citrus note smells tart and bright, wedded nicely to sweet English lavender, with the herbs lighting the floral bay and spiced rosewood's subtle shadows. Kind of like an evening stroll through the autumn woods. From afar, I get a much less saturnine smell: shaving cream. Very nice.

Basically when a sperm whale gets sick it starts to vomit the food it eats midway through the digestive process. That vomit is run ashore and crystallizes into some greasy rock thing that is ambergris. Nowadays it is rarely ever used, as whales are quite rare and a big part of the ambergris industry in the last came from artificially creating it by taking the content of dead whales’s stomachs.
Some fragrance houses still claim to use real ambergris, like Creed, but I don’t know if I trust them, finding it is simply too sporadically nowadays to justify a production chain. Maybe it is one of the reasons why their batches are so inconsistent.
Everyone just uses ambroxan nowadays, really.

It’s not vomit. Sperm whales eat squid, but they can’t digest the beaks. They sometimes get stuck in the whale’s gut and the whale can’t pass them, so they form a waxy substances around the beaks. Eventually, this chunk of waxy stuff gets so big that it breaks off and is passed, or sometimes a whale dies with ambergris inside it and is released during decomposition. The ambergris then floats around and is cured by the salt in the sea water and the sun, which is what makes it smell good. New ambergris smells foul.

15 hours in, and i have to say i am impressed. Fat Eletrician is still projecting off my skin from my arm to my nose. I have never seen something like this on a fragrance. Most are gone by the 10 hour mark, and those who survive are skin scent.
Verveine had a crazy projection for about 6 hours but died after that. Not even skin scent. Sel Marin only lasted 3 hours on my skin. Shame.
Remarkable people is still going, but very faintly. It never projected decently, but i guess it is cool. Probably realistically lasted for 12 hours. It lost its pungent aspect and is quite nice now, but i think i will end up buying Fat Eletrician due to how delicious is is right now. It reminds me from eletric engineering university, when the professors asked us to create an engine or replace some wiring somewhere. Very realistic and nostalgic.

You can't really take recommendations online for fragrances because nothing will be pleasing to every nose, even the safest ones. You can test out frags at Sephora and even ask for 3 free samples of the ones you are curious in. If you're dead set on blind buying, Versace frags are cheap and safe as fuck. I'd cop Dylan Blue. CK Be is also super safe that I can vouch for, same thing with CK one but I haven't tried it personally.

>>14894769
I really like Black Orchid but it's $63 for 30ml on fragrancenet, which is most of his budget already. Also it's not for every guy because it's girly as fuck and has nuclear performance.

The recommendations >>14894788 set are very good. Do remember to always try the fragrances on your skin and make you choice overnight, if not longer, in order to evaluete the longevity. Your skin chemistry can severely alter both the longevity and the scent itself, so it really is crucial. With $100 you can either buy a pretty expensive designer fragrance or pick 2-3 cheap ones.

It has become boring due to the trends the industry has set and once you get to know Sauvage, you will start to smell it in every other guy on the street, and that is somewhat annoying.
It in of itself is a good fragrance, but it does not invoke emotions or ressonate very deeply with oneself. Take Cool Water, for example, it is considered a cheap shitfrag by many, but every time I spray it on I am reminded of riding a horse in green fields on a hot summer day wearing my traditional outfit.
If you want to begin with it, like me, Sauvage EDT is a more unique scent, but EDP is more versatile and lasts longer. Parfum is a different story altogether, it is much greener and oakmossy. Very different from the other 2.

Review anon here. New zoologist bat video is up for those interested as I know some of you are. For those of you who don’t want to watch here are the cliff notes: It is sweeter but the bananas were much better than the fruits in it now. It is much more animalic than the last one. It is actually similar to hyrax, surprisingly so the barnyard funk in it immediately struck me as hyrax and I smelled hyrax again last night. Has hay note like chergui. More green less mineral. It’s not cold wet stone like the last. It’s mossy wet rock now. This is more leathery. Basically how I explained it in the video was they turned the mineral down and everything else up. Which sounds good but it’s really not in my opinion. This is barnyardy, I don’t get the rainforest so it should have just stayed in the cave. The fruit notes are good but blown the fuck out by the much louder chad animalic notes. Some florals. Overall do not blind buy. Sample first. Only the OG zoologist fans will like this, it’s next to hyrax and trex as the lines most challenging.

The EDP has a more citrusy opening that is going to attract more attention. The EdP is spicier, which makes it appropriate for formal occasions. I would say most people should begin with the EdT, yes, but do test all of them on your skin, like I mentioned. The ideal test locations are on your wrists and on the inner elbows.

Anyone know this Aftershave? Nivea Energy. I used to have it and really liked the smell. Is there any "real" cologne that smells like it?

Can't confirm this, but apparently all Nivea Aftershave splashes (not balms) have the same smell, so you don't have to know the exact one on the pic.

Luca Turin is right about a lot of things, but not that. Besides, Azzaro is not nearly as soapy, it's much more earthy and spicy than PRPH. Paco Rabanne is a soap bomb.

Nothing you said about it was particularly harsh though. I think a difference in understanding of what's "challenging" or not. Curious to know what sort or direction/feedback he gave to Prin, especially since replacing something as beloved as the original Bat must have been a huge responsibility. Still looking forward to your Nightingale and Moth reviews. Keep it up mate.
