Zoologist Trex review video is up if anyone wants to see it. The fragrance is an absolute monster the strongest I have ever tried. It’s stronger than honey apud my whole place smells of burnt lizard from one spray. It’s the true vision of zoologist. This and bat are they most pure zoologist of the line, encompassing the life and death of the animal. Only a man among men can wear it only alphas need apply I couldn’t pull this off. It is loud, unbelievable, and unforgiving. Smell it if you ever get the chance this is what nasomatto duro wanted to be. Aggressive mean masculinity, hard, abusive, drunk malice.

T Rex is amazing but utterly unwearable to me. It’s not a matter of needing to be alpha enough, it just isn’t anything people will find pleasant. Simple as. But it doesn’t need to be, it fits the “wearable art” concept of Zoologist. Just very interesting stuff. Might cop one day, but I don’t see it getting much use.

Regardless of what else you have it would be an easy frag to burn through if you don't want to wear anything more costly that isn't a fresh shower scent. It's honestly nice. I originally posted about the canvas and concrete. I’m the review anon and I’ve worked to re-establish credibility on this board. It works but nothing profound. I said you can expect a 20% increase in performance. It’s basically repackaged liquid bandage if you’ve ever used it. Keeps your skin from absorbing the fragrance. Holds top notes longer and improves longevity some. Like I said about 20% so expectation management here. I got 100ml offered for 20 bucks so I said sure I’ll try it as an experiment. I only use it for my expensive frags. It improves zoologist because it’s base notes are all the animalic aspects of it so holding the top notes keeps it more friendly. The primer helps keep it linear. I have noticed if you want to improve projection spraying ISO-E on your application point helps. These are just my findings and personal anecdotes though so your mileage may vary.

Mr Guerlain, now retired, caused offence during a TV interview in October 2010 in which he was asked to explain how he created the Samsara perfume.

“For once, I set to work like a Negro. I don’t know if Negroes have always worked like that, but anyway,” he replied.

Mr Guerlain, who claims to be able to identify 3,000 different fragrances, took over the family perfume house from his grandfather, Jacques, in 1959.

He is considered one of the great perfume “noses” of the 20th century, concocting famous scents including Samsara, Nahema and Jardins de Bagatelle.

The perfume house remained in the Guerlain family for five generations and has created over 300 fragrances since Pierre Francois Pascal Guerlain, a doctor and chemist, opened his first perfume boutique in Paris 183 years ago.

I’m a bit biased towards Fahrenheit since it’s my all time favorite frag, but to me it’s a perfect representation of the 90s aesthetically, particularly a summer day where you can hear insects everywhere and smell the sun beating down on the pool equipment containers or sheds releasing that almost BO ozonic smell, as the smell of fresh cut grass and lawnmower fuel mixes in with florals and burnt, tarry woods, a campfire or something in the distance. It’s the best shit ever.

roja elysium- lemon pledge+gin hard pass
nishane hacivat- i might like this one, will try later. Synthetic opening has me not wanting to come back tho.
nishane ambra calibra- very green scent, like cut aloe or when you rub plant leaves together or something. Not horrible, Ill try it again later, but not what I'm looking for. It smells familiar, like some type of soap or bodywash something Ive smelled before. This one might be ok to wear for me after the super green opening.
montale intense cafe- i cant even get over the opening, disgusting. rose+ coffee thats come back up in your throat after burping. Quite the mistake on my part.
moth and rabbit single man- bought it for the memes to see how a faggot smells, its ok, i actually put it on enough to see how it did, and I like 75% of whats going on in here, the style perhaps? but theres some sharp note that stands out to me, (maybe oakmoss looking at fragrantica? im a noselet) that keeps me from buying a bottle. It smells a bit like that sharp note in liquor or something. Not horrible, compared to whats coming, but it didnt scream at me to buy it.
MPG ambre precieux- this one has grown a bit more on me the powder is toned down but its total grandma. Ill try it again later.
MPG ambra calibra and profuma anbra aura inspired the silkwood shower. This stuff is fucking disgusting, Ive come back to it this morning, I can still smell it on me from last night and its offensive.
Most of all of these amber/gris scents are very disturbing to me. I thought I liked it after coping some Dior amber nuit, which I didnt like at first scent, but it super grew on me quick and I want a big bottle now.
I have noticed for years now a scent I get around older women in stores. I refer to this as "pussy powder" smell. I thought it was the smell of depends, or some type of feminine covering scent for lady parts. Id have to hold my nose walking by, its old lady.

Come to find out, there is a chemical that you produce after 40 that does smell like old people. All the MPG and amber scents had this, maybe Ive found the absolutely rank scent Ive just thought was incontinent old women. Mybe that is what amber smells like. Ive decided most perfume smells like shit, all of these samples smelled fucking rank. I didnt like many of the scents at the department store either, Sauvage is very offensive fake smell at opening, horribly synthetic and cheap smelling, scratchy peppery lavender accord as its heart note that dominates the majority of its life on my skin before i have to scrub it off. all the ysl homme line didnt appeal to me except Y parfum which was my favorite of 20-30 scents at the dept store. 1 million smells like shit as well, I am really having a hard time reading all these glowing reviews, and then actually smelling them. This hobby/community is probably not something I can get very far into. Which is unfortunate, because I like nice smelling things and want to like what other people like, and experience the same joy they do. Seriously, Tuxedo, hombre leather and Amber nuit are the only ones that I would buy after trying dozens. Some of the blue scents are nice, but way overplayed and generic, and I totally understand the body wash aspect of fragrance now. Im not sure which direction to head off into in the frag world, maybe a sheep or something is what Im looking for. Thank you for reading, and I would gladly give these samples away if someone were actually retarded enough to post an addy here.

I dont have the vocabulary or knowledge to fully express what I'm feeling in the perfume world, I'm very sorry. I thought I was getting the best of the niche world, all the samples I picked out had very positive reviews, and appeared on "the best" amber reviews, like on the kafka and perfume shrine sites. Im not really sure its a designer vs niche thing either, maybe im just too autist to like a plethora of smells. Im really over reviews also, its such a personal thing, scents, and this has solidified that idea in my head. Im soooo tired of "compliment beast" or "what this one random female im friends with thinks about perfume" videos I see on ytube also. I really dont care what you think, its on my body and its for my pleasure alone, not everyone else. Going around trying to please people is just revolting vs wearing something because it smells snice. I like that conservative frag queen that was posted a few weeks ago, the one that likes to offend liberal white women in movie theaters by wearing perfume. I identify more with that than with what "the in-crowd" likes. And I'm not one to wear funky stuff for the sole purpose of offense, or to get a reaction either. Many of the scents I strongly dislike do dry down to something more tolerable, but theyre just not for me I guess. I also would like a little discussion of nose blindness, how to recognize it, and discern it from the "performance" of a frag. I get that with ambre nuit very quickly, and its a real bummer, I love the scent, but I think I have worn it all week and Im used to it. I read amber scents were more prone to this than others, and am curious to hear what others think about nose blindness.

Creed is also a niche gateway drug because despite fedoras on high horses saying it’s the best niche, it’s rather that it’s mass pleasing niche (generally speaking, some are exceptions)

Cutest things ever. Giving these minis as stocking stuffers for Mom and Sisters.

75ml bottle for scale.

I like coromandel a lot more than I thought I would. It isnt as sweet as I expected and has a awesome, bright, citrus opening. The patchouli is vibrant green.

1957 is a little mainstream but smells great, exactly what I would like to smell on a girl in her 20s. Super well blended, cant really pick out notes. Floral with a clean, musky touch.

N22 is my least favorite. Mature white floral with a powdery nuance from the iris. Still has a sparkly, aldehydic DNA though, I think my mom will like it.

Also grabbed samples of Cuir de Russie and Bois des Iles for myself. Not in these bottles.

Bois des Iles has a strong baby powder and citrus opening that im not crazy about. The woody mid with a hint of vanilla/tonka is really nice. The powdery-ness and weak performance havent sold me. I want to try egoist.

Cuir de Russie likewise starts a bit powdery on me for some reason, and there is a little funk I cant pinpoint, but I like it. It isn't super leathery to my nose. Its like a suede waller rather than a leather jacket. The deep dry down seemed clean and floral on me, which is something I actually love about Sycomore - smelling it on clothes the next day is awesome. Weak performing but the one I can most see myself wearing.

This whole frag thing is a scam, they are selling ephemeral dreams in a bottle. But some do smell good, and I would just like a half dozen or so I could grab without thinking. The whole $300 bottle thing obsession Im really not interested in. I would like to learn some of the notes, or chemicals used so I can learn to identify which frags smell good to me. 50% of the population is anosmiacs to certain chemicals, they simply cant smell them. Well, I would argue that that’s moving the goalposts a bit, but that aside, I see it as another form of fashion. People view fashion differently. Some people do wear clothes to impress others, many wear what they like and don’t care what others think. I think fragrance must logically be the same, then. Some wear fragrances they think others will like, some wear what they like. You really can’t make a blanket statement one way or another.

It's complicated, I think you could make an analogy to a lot of things... fashion, exercise/sports, music...

Take music for example. Most of us listen to certain music because we enjoy it, because it revives memories, because its self expressive, etc. Most of use dont listen to the music that we do in order to please other. However, it feels good when somebody enjoys the same music, or compliments your taste.

I'd never wear a fragrance JUST because I think other people will like it. I wear a fragrance because I like it, because its self expressive, etc. But, if the people around me like it, it feels good... its a compliment like any other.

Furthermore, it feels best to be complimented on authentic, personal things. I would much rather receive a single compliment on an obscure scent that I hand picked for myself than 100 compliments on sephoras best seller.

its probably just referencing all the videos/reviews that deal with other peoples opinions about what smells good or is popular. Its people thinking that, "I sound like a johnny depp sauvage type of guy, girls like that, Ill get massive puss" thought process that goes with much of the frag community. Doing something others perceive as good and proper, wearing scents for others approval. Some of those people really do fit into your 100% standard perhaps, but I dont think theres many that wear a personally unpleasant scent for long, just for others approval.

>> No.14881766

I never said anything about only wearing pleasing scents for the masses so you get compliments.

I’m saying wearing fragrance publicly is about presenting yourself a certain way to the people around you. Fashion as a whole is the same, and your lying to yourself if you truly believe you only dress a certain way just for yourself.

Someone above likened it to music, but the equivalent would be carrying around a speaker everywhere you go so that everyone hears your music when you pass by.
