Maybe work on your financial situation first. Until then, as long as you're wearing white collared shirts & clean simple pants (the black ones you have will be fine) you can get away with wearing most types of more casual jackets over the top.

Save up & get a blazer tailored. I did this and was the best decision. getting to pick the exact fabric you want & having it fit you perfectly is such a feeling.

but yeah go for navy, it goes with almost everything

90s were a bastardization day of the classic early 20th century style, shit just wasn’t that good looking its second time round. I guess 30s-40s menswear requires 30’s-40s accessorizing and attention to detail.

personally i'd go in store, I'd want to first try on any blazer i'm buying. i'm not in the US so i don't know exact stores that are cheap. google 'cheap suit <your city>' and see what comes up? Ask the store helpers exactly what you asked here

Slimshit isn’t flattering. It puts the focus entirely on the physique, which is either repulsive (for most men these days, who are somewhere on the skinny-skinnyfat-fatass spectrum) or just makes every fit a sexcore fit (for men actually in shape).
Slim is also less comfortable and less practical in virtually every job except scuba diving

I hate slim-cut suits but that is still way too big. He's wearing a tent.
There's a happy medium somewhere but I haven't seen it in this thread.

I want enough room in the crotch and legs to casually vault a park fence but without it being any kind of tent or any risk of the trouser cuffs getting stood on or caught on anything. Also my shirt cuffs and jack should never have to be pulled back for me to eat or do anything manual.
