Unanswered questions from last thread:

>does anyone have a rec for a brand or designer that makes preppy sweaters similar to KJP ones that aren't sweatshop-made acrylic?

>Do you know if there is any difference in full welted shoes and "half" welted ones like pic one? (full ones have welt even in the heel)

>Does TIP allow for patterned shirts and polos? Like for instance bird's eye? What are casual trad patterns?

Yes, some simple patterned polo shirts are /TIP/, stripes is an easy example. Birdseye is also valid.

And also, rugby shirts are very similar to long sleeve polo shirts, and they are /tip/ too

I would like to see the fit you have in mind. Black isn't a preppy color by nature but it might be a cool goth prep hybrid.

Another question. W2c a used concept 2 rower?

Kinda cool, that's more a blazer than a sports coat though. A sports coat with patch pockets (like that) is always the most casual type which means it is for outdoors so it will be a thick wool/tweed.

A thinner material, even wool with patch pockets is always casual and of course can be worn with non-matches pants.

Not many do know differences, but certainly in trad/prep a sports coat will be thick wool.

Not thin like a suit or a material such as linen.

You can tell when something is casual too or formal. Patch pockets (you can see them sewn on outside the jacket) are casual and can be found on sports coats and blazers. You wont (or should not) find them on a suit.

Flap pockets, a pocket with a flap is not so casual but not really formal, also found on sports coats, blazers and suits.

A jetted pocket is just a line and the whole pocket is inside. The most formal, found on dinner jackets. Should not be on any of the other jackets.

I have OCBDs from spier and mackay, drakes, older brooks brothers, and one from proper cloth.

I think the build quality is on par with brooks, but the fabric is a good deal thicker than either my brooks or drakes. similar to s&m from 2016-17 when their OCBDs ran THICK. the collar is a bit quaint, it has substantial roll and the unlined sport ivy models are extremely comfortable, but some people dislike the amount of tie space/the way they look with a tie. I personally wear them without a tie most of the time because the ones I purchased are slightly too trim in the neck.

sizing is a bit difficult to interpret on the website.

I purchased mine in store for $89ea and think that the current $50 is definitely worth it if you can find your sizing.
