Tungsten can actually look great when done right. You can get a simple thin band made of tungsten and it would look great while having the added benefit of tungsten being virtually indestructible. Something like pic related could easily pass as a traditional gold band to the untrained eye.
The thing is that people always get them plated in black and get them 8mm wide with ugly inlays.
I'm not hating on tungsten at all and think it's a good choice for someone wanting a study ring with zero maintenance required, I just hate that it's always tungsten that these ugly bands are made from.

I have seen rose gold men's bands and I actually really like it. I considered it for my own wedding band but it just didn't go well with my skin tone. It's really dependent on the wearer's skin; on some people it gets washed out. I think rose gold on men is super underrated.
On women it looks really good with gemstones. Diamonds you definitely want to stick to white gold as it makes the diamond really good stick out. Yellow gold really washes out diamonds.
With a gemstone instead of a diamond rose gold looks fantastic. I saw an amethyst on rose gold with a diamond halo and was blown away by how good it looked.
