While gaming merch is a bit childish and sometimes cringey, I think its obscure enough that most people wouldn't even know.
Metal gear is also on this kind of other level where its not as bad as if you were wearing say a mario or minecraft symbol on your jacket.
So I guess its a tough call, it looks good. Probably comes down to your personality.
I got a Diamond Dogs shirt as a gift a while back, always cautious of wearing videogame merch though for the aforementioned reasons.
MSF probably has the coolest patch.

This, its nowhere near best selling.
Its popular in the circles people like us probably frequent.
But most people, and by people I mean people who have touched videogames at all before 2015, which is a surprisingly small percentage, have heard of it but haven't played it.
Obscure may be an overstatement for the franchise itself but things FROM the franchise not so much IMO.
Minecraft, Tetris and GTAV are top three best sellers of all time btw, in that order.
