I’ve been getting FM French Lover for a few weeks, and it initially had this spicy rooty quality at the top that felt really unpleasant and abrasive. After wearing a few weeks I can hardly even detect that note and it almost has a sweet quality that was non existent in the beginning.

Honestly makes me nervous for how this smells to others.

It has this sort of smokiness to it, saffron’s not a listed note, but that’s sort of what it smells like to me. Could be the cardamom. Both godly frags brah. Drakkar Noir contains 10% dihydromyrcenol in it’s fragrance formula and Cool Water contains 20%, so see if you can perceive that. It’s the super fresh metallic citrusy/lavender laundry-esque smell that pervades the opening. If you spray on your wrist and then breathe hot air on it 10 mins later and sniff, the smell you get is pretty much pure dihydromyrcenol.
