damaskos look like shit. it looks like a fucking clock on your wrist to normies, might as well buy a fucking timex weekender.

The only good watch that sinn makes is the 903. I agree there.
Oris is a good buy though.
>actual AR coating on crystal
>better than swatch trash
>only brand that makes better bracelets is rolex
>use upgraded selitas that will handwind without grinding into dust
>original case design
>good size
>pretty colors
I don't know if I'd get one new, but a used aquis is a great alternative to swatch garbage if you need an expensive watch. Otherwise an orient ray with a sapphire crystal modded on is much more soulful.
>>14721011
Out of the quartz diver options the best is the duro. it's big but wears it's size well, citizen and the rest are just modern mallshit designs while the duro looks like a proper watch. Helps that you can actually fucking service/swap batteries yourself too.
I love mine, it's just kinda boring. It's also not a jeweled movement so the timekeeping changes when you take it off and the metal parts change fitment with the plastic gears. If it's your first or only watch see my comment about the ray ii. $200 gets you a great movement, strapcode bracelet that mogs low end swatchchinkshit and a nice AR coated sapphire crystal + cheap press to punch it in with.

The bulova ticks at 16Hz last I checked. So it looks pretty smooth but it's much more coarse than the old tuning forks, beta 21, 5s21, and especially the spring drive. The spring drive is really the only movement that has a "true" smooth seconds sweep and not just a number of steps per second that looks smooth.
That said the way the 5s21 does it is the stepper motor moves at 4Hz and there's a spring/fluid dampener that smooths out the movement of the seconds hand. You can see the individual steps on the gear to the bottom right and the much smoother turning gear nearer the middle here.

>how long did it take you to get that collection
I have been actively collecting for around 10 years now.

>any specific motivation for the specific watches?
Generally I like watches with a classic design and smaller circumference below 40mm with rose gold being my favorite material and chronographs being my favorite complication.
I tried a lot of sports watches like the royal oak, nautilus and daytona but can't get myself excited about any of them so I'll stick with leather straps.

>The quartz disney watch
First one I ever wore as a child and it got me hooked on watches.

>Chronoswiss Kairos skeletonized
I liked it because I always wanted a skeletonized Chronograph and a watch with the Valjoux 23 movement seemed perfect for it.

>Split second Chronograph
I liked the idea that they managed to turn the ETA 7750 into a split second chronograph at an affordable price and think that the dial layout is interesting.

>Chronoswiss Klassik
Until I can get my hands on a Vacheron Constantin Historiques Cornes de Vache 1955 these two will be my daily wears.
ETA 7750 with an amazing finishing and a subdial for the date instead of the typical (ugly in my opinion) date window you'd expect on that movement.

>Chronoswiss Lunar
Only large size watch I own at 42mm and the most "showy".
I liked the classic breguet inspired design and still needed a moon phase in my collection.

>Rolex Oysterdate
Good deal I found and couldn't pass on. Felt it complemented my air king I already owned well.

>Rolex Air-King
Nice simple entry level Rolex and one of my favorite models the company ever made.
I wish they still made these and didn't fully replace them with the explorer at that level.

>Omega (pic related)
Loved the patina on the dial

>Lange
The 39mm Datograph is my grail watch, and until I get my hands on that my watchmaker offered me a recased vintage Lange at a good price.

Do you guys get a lot of hate?
There's always snobs. Especially in the rich/luxury circles.
Most people I know don't mind. Also Apple watch is a good watch that has high utility. However I don't see it the same way I would a luxury watch?

IMO they are different things. Lux watch for special occasions. Fashion watch for fashion. Apple watch for utility. Although AW also does FW pretty well too. Mid-range brands the ones getting killed. Ultra lux seem unphased, probably because the prices/roles are so different and AW probably dead within 5-10 years at best when iphones are trash within 2-4 years.

Perfect watch except
>bidirectional bezel

If these could be fixed, I'd buy a bunch.

gonna go for that digital casio with that turquoise EL branding or the silver world time one above it soon. I like the nato strap on that open heart Orient btw. looks neato.

I'm sure they exist.
however I do have a nice clock on my wall with a sweeping seconds hand and obviously it's quartz. best investment ever because it's totally silent. the worst thing you can buy for your home is a clock that ticks loudly and drives you mad.

I sorta wanted that Wenger but then I decided it's not worth it simply because it's too expensive.
But it's a cool watch either way.

Okay so now that the dust has settled...how sleazy is it? This has got to be the digital version of a terrible fake Rolex. Convince me not to get one.
