i bought from one uk store (off ebay) but it was a size too small and legit murdered my toes/feet after a short wearing.

my only issue is ebay sellers hide the quality/how the shoes look which is why I didn't buy off one of them.

Plus most sizes (especially mine) are all sold out on ebay

I have 6 pairs of cordovan shoes and boots. It's really not much maintenance. Use a sparing amount of cordovan paste wax when necessary, much less frequently than you need to polish calf shoes. Brush the hell out of them when you polish and whenever you feel like: every wear is probably ideal, but come on. Brush and brush til you can't brush no more. You can use a deer bone to smooth out rolling if you want- I feel it helps get out scratches, but it's kinda overkill. Only Americans seem to use it for shell. I've never needed to condition but you can use Venetian creme.

If they get spots from rain, wipe them down with a damp rag.

Other people have different methods. Mine is basically a variation of "the Mac method," named after some guy from the ask Andy / style forums, who has a lot of fucking shoes. Other people don't use color paste. It's up to you. Don't overthink it

Alright, I've been doing basically that. Just brushing after every wear. I did use paste wax once to see it's effect but I don't exactly know when or why I'd use it again. Was hoping I didn't fuck up.

I'm sure you've posted it in other boot generals, but do you have a pic of your cordovan collection?

Relax friend, I was being facetious. Oxfords are more formal than derbies, which are much more casual, hence why most would wear oxfords with a suit to a wedding.
But derbies are fine, no one notices things like that except for people who are into fashion and looking super nice.

Wolvermeme boots are almost 400 dollars for non-existent quality control and horribly clicked leather. Seriously, I don't think Wolverine even looks at their finished product before boxing it up and shipping it out. And they certainly couldn't care less about whether they use unacceptable parts of the hide for their leather. They'll use whatever scrap of hide they have laying around to make a pair of boots.
Wolverine 1k boots are absolutely not worth how much they charge for them. They're a 200 dollar boot being sold for 385. I wouldn't wear them even if they were free.

I can buy a set of vibrams off amazon for $20. I havent went to a cobbler but I would imagine it would cost more than that. >> No.14680610

If you can get them on sale then by all means go for it. They're like Allen Edmonds in that they're good if you get them for cheap, but absolutely not worth full price.
The 1ks are absolutely notorious for loose grain. I seriously don't think Wolverine cares about leather and just uses anything they have. You can tell if a piece of hide will show loose grain, it feels very weak and almost like it's got air pockets in it. A good clicker feels that and cuts around it. They don't use that piece. Wolverine obviously has no problem using it though.
If you Google image search "loose grain" you'll see almost all pics are of 1K boots. It's crazy.

Something like Red Wing Blacksmiths have a very similar kind of look but are miles ahead in terms of quality. They're 300 new but if you find one on clearance or on sale they're worth it. I hadn't seen them on there previously. I like them alright, but with a few caveats. They're super big, which is okay because wool will shrink. Also the cuffs are very strange. They're designed to be belted ontop of your boot and then wrapped with puttees I would assume, so they have like a leather strap that you can use to seal the pant around your boot-top. They also have metal hooks on the inside of the cuff, so trying to wear them inside the boot is actually pretty uncomfortable. I'm not sure how much I can make them work. I have the Austrian cargos from Varusteleka as well and they're much more wearable with normal outfits.

You're the guy that constantly anti-shills Wolverine, aren't you? I've had a pair of 1Ks, a pair of Iron Rangers, and I tried three goddamn pairs of LL Bean Katahdins (popular $200 boots.) The LL Beans were pure trash. The 1Ks and the IRs were similar build/material quality, but the design and construction are different. The IR is made like an oldschool work boot. The 1Ks are made like a dress boot. Both are good quality but you need to understand they're coming from different directions. I can't speak for 1K leather quality since mine were specials.

I'm not talking about what style they are. They could be a dress boot or a work boot or a combat boot.
I'm talking about Wolverine having abysmal quality control and not being able to click leather to save their lives.
If Wolverine would step up their game I'd get a pair myself, I'm not hating on the boot you see. I'm hating on Wolverine and until they decide they prefer quality over quantity like greedy Jews I'll tell everyone who will listen to not buy their product
