The watch doesn't make me mad (though I do think it's pretty ugly, but I really don't care if you like to wear an ugly watch), you make me mad by nonstop spamming your watch while flexing it like anyone should give a shit about your $150 homage watches. It's sort of like when people go fucking nuts flexing Invicta. It's one thing if you were to respond to relevant fucking posts talking about it but every fucking watch thread for the last two weeks has had at least 10 of your posts telling every fucking person ever how much you love that ugly piece of junk.

Those are two completely different watches. The one you posted has the NH35 (no hand winding or hacking) and no day complication on top of not having a ceramic and lumed bezel, a different case diameter and a flat sapphire crystal (instead of the double domed sapphire the islander comes with). His watch isn't a "rebrand" of the your homage watch. If anything it's a completely separate homage watch but with a different movement and significant upgrades over the 007.

Not him but how would fashion shitter even make sense in this context. Especially since the specs would be better then the original. If it was quartz instead of a seiko movement in it then okay but it borders on being a better version to go for because it's still a seiko movement in there. Seiko fans are insane, bad QC and usually worse specs then most of their competition for the $. But because they caused the quartz crisis, had numerous achievements, and became a low end mall brand, its worth it? Its gonna be crazy seeing you psychos buy the new alpinist in January for 700

Alright, I mixed the 35 with the 25. It still doesn't matter because the Islander has a fucking NH36 not an NH35.

The Sharkey's case diameter is 45 where as the Islander is 43. The Sharkey's bezel is painted steel, where as the Islanders is ceramic. The Sharkey's bezel only has lume on the 12 position where as every index on the Islander's bezel is lumed. The hands are completely different on the Islander vs the Sharkey. They aren't the same fucking watch no matter how much you say they are. The crystal is different (like you admitted).

They are similar because they are both homages to the same original SKX007, but they aren't even the same fucking case diameter of movement. The only thing that's fairly close is the dial, which in all honesty neither of these companies make themselves but rather they use a fucking template which their parts supplier/logistics consultant probably has already preset just waiting to print on whatever logo/writing they send them digitally.

Redpill me on the Bulova Accutron Spaceview. There are a bunch of them on ebay from $200-$1500. What's the difference between the cheap and expensive? Are the cheap ones frankens with new parts?

Cheap Accutrons are either frankenjobs cobbled together from dubious components, or in really shitty unserviced condition (very few people have the specific tools and know-how to service the proprietary movement).

Keeps good time and is reliable, what does it matter what other watches it's in? It's also cheap to service or replace, I don't see how that's a bad thing.
>shit finishing
Not true, the brushing is good and the polish is clean as well.
>no customer support
And? You buy with paypal and if they chink you, you get your money back. What the fuck do I need customer support for?
>company will likely go out of business in a couple of years
Again, why does that matter to this particular watch that I own? Is it gonna stop running when they close their store?

Franken doesn't really make sense in the context of a spaceview since 99% of them had the dials removed after production but before being sold, so unless you are dead set on getting one of the few "true" spaceviews they are all cobbled together.

You've done your research, you've come to your conclusions. The end.
I'll only add that, if you need a watch, a cheapo digital casio does the job.
I'm a literal 30yr old boomer.
I can't leave the house without a watch. I feel fucking off all day because of it. It feels the same as if I'd forgotten my sunglasses or car keys; sure not the end of the world there's alternatives but less convenient and not something I'm used to.

I always found it odd that younger kids just never had a watch. Parents never saw the need to give them one. It boggles my noggles.

Concerning the luxury end that you rationality won't allow you to buy because of the accuracy issue, you have to think of them as jewelry; they're not a necessary tool, they're a nice accouterment.
You can go full forest hermit or buddhist monk and eschew "nice things". But there's nothing wrong with enjoying shit every so often.
>YOLO# lmao
and all that shit.
You wouldn't be on this board if you didn't want some nice things, otherwise you'd just go around wearing a potato sack with a hemp rope belt.

Consider Rolex: you know why their logo is a coronet? Because the founder thought up the idea that a man should have
>a crown for every achievement
Got that promotion? Get a new watch. And so on and so forth.
It's a treat. A trinket. That's all. Accuracy to an anal degree is secondary.
My advice is just save your money though;
If you've come this far without that shit you can go even further. Stay away from watch shit online, as from there temptation ever springs.

In the last year or so I have met three separate people all wearing a black Rolex Submariner. All three of them have attempted to convince me their watches are real, and cost a small fortune. All three have been of varying quality, but all have been obvious fakes. I honestly don't know if any of these three people know they are fakes, or have just been ripped off. The one I sore yesterday was the worst. In it's defence it had an automatic movement, but not a very good one. It sort of swept, but not very well. The window was dull and lightly scratched, the bezel wasn't ceramic, and it's click movement was horrible. There was almost no lume, it weighed about half of what it should have, and the clasp looked like it may have come from the local LOOKY LOOKY man. The owner of this horrible timepiece handed it to me for examination, and I politely straightened up the bezel and handed it back without comment. My policy is not to make any remark unless someone asks me advice on authenticity. I am aware there are some very good copies out there, buy as yet all the ones I have seen have been pretty awful.

Whats the point of wearing a watch if you dont want to be precise? Just wear a Defakto, then. I came to dislike automatics for daily wear, as either the spring dies slowly down, or the piece loses time. Having to unscrew and screw down the crown several times a week also makes my anus tingle that I will wear down the threading sooner or later. Then there is the weight and carry comfort (lmao dyel skellington). Automatics/mechanical are fine if worn for an occasion, or literally all the time. A quartz wins for practical purposes everytime. Also, getting an auto without an exhibition caseback is missing the whole point. The largest problem I see in the quartz market, that practically noone makes a really really good looking one while keeping reasonable prices.

Even a low-tier mechanical watch is still +/-5spd. Realistically that more than enough accuracy for 99.9% of people who use them to tell the time. "Oh I'm a few seconds early or late for my meeting. Big deal."

Also since the fact most people wear an expensive mechanical watch simply as jewellery or as a status symbol or to show off or as something you do once you become successful. Timekeeping rarely factors into it.

So yes the autists in this thread caring about quartz over mechanical because of accuracy are kind of missing the point.

The marketing department are smart enough to know that producing new accutrons is pretty much going to devalue the old ones and nobody will want either anymore. Same reason rolex has incredible demand to supply ratio... it's not because they hate money, it's because flooding the market would be a short term cash grab but they would devalue their brand massively. Now that tudor has gotten a foothold after their 2010s rebranding they're starting to slowly but surely throttle their supply too, I mean people are almost clamouring for their Pepsi GMT, the harrods black bay etc and many of their watches are now on wait list, while you can go out and buy a speedy from an AD today.

A crusade against the mentally disabled sounds like a good idea. We should start by sterilizing you.

Maybe if you keep at it for 50 years you'll succeed in changing "maxi case" to "supercase" but don't hold hold your breath retard.

It's a faggot country, I hate their mannerisms , their weird smug attitudes, their faggy accents. Hitler, Mercedes, and Adidas get a gold star but that doesn't give them a pass. I want nothing to do with that little refugee infested shithole of a country

I guess senpai. Are you actually from Europe or are you just an edgy American posting about a country you don't really understand? I'm definitely not the biggest fan of Germany's immigration policy, but there really isn't much more based than wearing a Flieger made by Stowa/Laco who literally made them for the Luftwaffe.
