Do you like my new hat, /fa/? What kinds of hat styles do you like, and what is your favorite to wear?

Thanks! It is similar to a homburg, with a bound brim and the black color so typical of them, although not exclusive, but this kind of a hat is a bound-brim Boss of the Plains style, just with a narrower than typical brim at three inches of width. I suppose it is more of a townie's style of hat, than that of a working cowboy. Yes, it is also similar to Haredi Jewish hats, and it is still acceptable to wear. It is also similar to derby or bowler hats, but it has a wider brim.

Here is a brown fedora worn up like a homburg. I think it lacks the thicker binding that characterizes homburgs, though.

Yeah, the top isn't really shaped down, yet, even though there is some slight creasing on the side, as though the hat were bumped into something. It is a nice looking hat, though.

Don't remember wxactly which ones were, but I'm pretty sure, most of the bottom 2 rows were wool. Hard to tell from the pic, but there are also a few denim and a few corduroy ones, and the two on the far right of the bottom row had a nice speckled pattern that also didn't quite come through as much in the pic

I like the way fishermen's caps look, but I don't have one in my collection, yet. I might opt for brown, navy blue, or black, possibly all, later on, if I like them enough on me. However, they look low crowned, and my head is rather tall. I find hats and caps more comfortable when they are not nearly sitting on the top of my head. Hopefully, I could find one of those that fits me.

60s fedora, the hardest part is to brush it before using it an making the front part of the wing go down. also I have a simillar green fedora with 2 problems, one is that the wing has the homburg/orion shape. and sencond, it's lacking the green band, and it's a freaking hard one to get by.

Those caps don't belong here, sorry. For a good cap, you should check your local hat vendor. Much better quality.

Everyone and his mother resides next to some city. Thing is: Most clothes can be bought on the internet. For hats and shoes I would always recommend to go to a local store because the former need many items in many sizes and some discussion and the latter need several try-ons (your mirror and spine will thank you).

Got any leads on the type of newsie hats that have a profile more like a flatcap? (Less poof on sides)
>>14660606

>> No.14662830

>>14662516
Unfortunately, no. I haven’t seen a newsboy cap that looks more taken-in on the sides like flat caps do. I think the 5 to 8 panel construction lends itself to that kind of looseness, although maybe look for specifically 5 panel caps, and you might see a smaller profile version of a newsboy, without the extremely 1920s and 1930s style width on the sides.
