It already is to some extent. Things are trending away from the minimalist/scandinavian interior design style. Urban outfitters has basically killed it. Every college dorm is the same earth tones and little succulent plants and string lights now. There is a temporary trend towards a revival of the Memphis school but that shit is hideous and the only people who like it are contrarian art hoes. And even then its unclear if their appreciation is serious, as they do the same with fashion and purposefully wear awful dumb shit like tiny sunglasses.

If you look at architectural magazines there is a trend in high end retail, art spaces, and restaurants away from open minimal spaces, and towards enclosure and privacy. This means a lot of drapes, darker lighting, better acoustics, and a return to materials like velvet, marble, and metallic gold or silver.

Trendy restaurants since 2010 had been moving towards open concept stuff and now every bar and store has the same sterile "air bnb" lite-industrial aesthetic. The backlash against that will start in high-end restaurants offering more privacy and intimacy. It will trickle down to trends in interior design like darker colors, more closed spaces, textures that look good under soft or colored lighting. Some art deco stuff may be revived but probably not the tacky geometric stuff like that picture.

Though these predictions will probably get thrown off if there is a recession. The last one was awful for culture, as it precipitated the "folk revival" shit going mainstream (mason jars, thrift store finds). The question is how the Gen Z kids will react to an economic downturn given current trends. The rich will continue on the trajectory towards renewed luxury and privacy. Also wouldn't be surprised if old abandoned malls and retail spaces start getting repurposed in more creative ways, but American urban planning and expensive liquor licensing will probably kill that trend in most states, or force it to be illegal.

I can't imagine art deco office towers making a comeback. Too dark inside, too expensive to build, maintain, and update. Too many interior columns supporting the building's huge weight. I don't see this as a trend but as an evolution in office space usage.
If art deco comes back in a residential way, it's sure as shit going to be expensive.
