I'm planning to buy pic related as my first pair of wool trousers. Will be wearing them to formal-but-not-suit events like church or a fancy dinner. I've been told I'm supposed to look for heavy material so they fit better, is that true? What kind of tops could I wear with this, besides a white Oxford shirt, what colour sweaters could I match with this? Are black shoes and belt the only option with this colour? What options are there if I go for a darker gray?

Please don't roast me if these questions are dumb, I've been dressing like a teenager for so long now and it's time to dress my age (23).

It’s really cringe for a young person to go to church, please don’t fall for the Christian LARPers here.

>> No.14639581

you can do brown shoes
depending on the texture, you can wear tshirts with a sweater (cardigan or crew neck)
turtle neck or rolltop would also be nice imo

semi formal is the dresscode in the church I'm going to , pic related would be a pretty casual fit there so would fit with being a young adult without kids. I don't see how that is a LARP.

Thanks, what kind of colour sweater do you think would work besides black?

What do you think 2% elastane does lol
They're called SLIM FIT because that sells better than skinny which has gone out of fashion ages ago. But it's essentially the same.

>> No.14639848

>>14639727
Most times the 2% of elastane is concentrated in the waist to make the pant more comfortable when you sit down (even regular fits usually have that elastane). Its easy to recognize this if you try to stretch with your hands a pant in the waist and in some part of the leg. In waist it stretches a bit whereas on the rest it doesnt.

May sound weird but you dont want affordable wool pants. Shitty thin suit-like material and often no lining makes them horrid. Just spend the money on a good 100% wool flannel pair

Pic is lemaire, forgot the season but it's definitely a f/w from the last few years.

I recommend you to look for plain black derbies if you want that kind of look. Preferably with a leather upper and sole if you can afford it.

Uniqlo has affordable prices and also fits well on most people they don't have a ton of stores in europe so you might have to buy online. Also look for cos even though it's more expensive they have a lot of different cuts, all of them modern, so there should be one to your liking there. Those are the budget options I can recommend from personal experience.
