I don't want a sinn, oris, or tudor, just rolex and then retarded things more expensive then rolex. Why do the Swiss still jerk us around with “muh craftsmanship” when everything is literally just a CNC program now? You will get hand crafted artisanal shit at the haute horology level but all your <$20,000 watches are just made by computers moving a machine tool around.

You got goobers who still think it takes 14 months to make a Rolex when they’re spitting out 800,000 of them a year and artificially creating scarcity.

Buy Jap or Chinese. It’s all made on the same (Swiss/German/Japanese) CNC machines anyway.

Citizen BN0100-00E. It's an Ecodrive from about 7 years ago. Great watch, except the design is about as vanilla and functional as it gets. The lugs are also 23mm so lolgoodluck finding straps unless you can squeeze a 24 in there. I really love it but I've wanted a cushion case Seiko for a decade.

yes, no issues with the bezel (although I rarely use bezels to time anything, so you may be more picky then me). Obviously phoibos is chinese as fuck so it's luck of the draw, I was really paranoid getting it and trying to get a read from people that have them on whether the QC is good, some posts with fucked up ones but not enough to think every other one going out is messed up. When I want to wear a worry free watch that's what I wear. If it breaks, not a big deal. Want to rob me for it, take it please. You can go diving with it. It fell on the floor more times than I can count and still runs ok enough for me. Should the movement stop at any point it can be upgraded with an nh36 movement and it will even hack and wind for probably less than a service. It also looks good to me. Not sure why you hate it so much.

Are mass produced automatic watches durable enough for daily wear? I mean actual 24/7/365 wear, not "wear to the office and dinner" kind of wear. I keep seeing posts on watch forums like "I bumped my Rolex against a doorframe and now it's running 45 seconds slow." I really want to get a nice watch but not if it's only for flexing under gentle conditions.

Meanwhile I've had an Eco-Drive on my wrist all day for the last five years and I only have to adjust it for daylight savings twice a year. I've beat on it so hard the finish is worn off.

Some us some examples of those posts. Say what you like about Rolex but they are known for having some of the most shock resistant and reliable movements in the industry. Most of them were originally designed as tool watches and meant to take a lot of punishment. Other brands likely will not fair as well.

Just bought a cake for my mom's birthday. While saying goodbye to the patisserie's owner (female), I noticed she had a Kermit on her wrist. I hate women who wear submariners so this made me think: on one hand she is the classic woman who has money and buys a Rolex Submariner because that's the only luxury watch she knows, but on the other hand a Kermit is a watch that requires a little bit of consideration before purchasing or at least some kind of watch knowledge. So which one is it? I am confused, was it a gift? Have I found a possible watch enthusiast? Why do women do this?

You're projecting way too hard. All people tend to buy things they like or think they look good. Sometimes it's superficial and sometimes it's educated. The fact you're trying to psychoanalyze a baker because you're shocked by her choice of watch says more about you than her.

And honestly, in my experience with woman a Rolex shows more thought than other brands. The Oyster ex put some effort into getting a nice high-end watch. The really superficial chicks I've dated ended up with a Tag or another brand I can't remember that used to be fancy but now just makes Chinese shit. Do you know what projecting means? What am I projecting onto her?
A Rolex Sub is the most cookie cutter luxury watch there is, there is even the joke that if you get caught by rebel fighters in the middle of the deepest african jungle and you're wearing a sub, they'll want it. Which is why women are so obsessed with it. Instead of doing a minimum of research and finding a beautiful luxury lady's watch they just get the "rolly".

So a reason might simply be that they don't make a sub in lady size and so she bought the 40mm. Very possible, thank you for making me think anon.

Patrician taste anon. The best chronograph currently available IMO. I honestly prefer it over the Datograph.

I'm 6'1" and 140 pounds you dipshit. I dress really well too, but it's hard for women to tell the brand of my clothing so starting a conversation is impossible.

Could be worse. It could hide the numbers completely.

Anyways it's a design choice and you'd have to be autistic to be triggered by it.

That Patek is much better. Subdials cutting into shit reeks of a design afterthought. You don't need to be autistic to be put off by it, you just need to have taste.

Absolutely. I'm sure it's your clothing that is the only reason women want nothing to do with you.

There is no watch on this beautiful earth that'll start a conversation with a woman. You could have Breguet himself winding the Marie-Antoinette, and it wouldn't statt a conversation with a woman.
Get a Rolex Datejust and get the fuck out of here.

we got news for you bub, most or almost all women don't give a fuck what you wear on your wrist or even care if you wear a watch or not. The very rare species of women who are into watches are most likely way over your league too.

You're an idiot.

That Patek cuts into the fucking indices at 3 and 9 that are supposed to replace the numerals, and the date subdial at 6 cuts all the way into the minute track.
