Orient has some great looking ones but the problem,as with most brands,is that the watches are huge(41mm).

I agree that the Tangente looks better than the Antea, but the Antea is the one with the actual heritage. They made a deal between Nomos and Stowa to each use their respective dials. Stowa lost that one, I agree. Regarding Nomos' "vastly superior finishing", it's only as far as their movement decoration goes, because dial, hands and case are equivalent. Regarding better designs, Nomos does bauhaus-style dress watches better, but they don't do anything else. So if you want a manly tool watch, a diver or a flieger, Stowa has the (better) designs.

Sinn used to be similar, but then they started to expand their palette into dogshit territory. Damasko is cool, but it's a one trick pony, with the hardened steel pilot watch being the product. Laco and Archimede are both clearly cheaper and of lesser value in all respects.

Personal opinion, but to me Stowa represents a sweet spot. I could go for a Damasko as well, really nice watches. I just hate their logo.

Seiko is in-house. Eterna is in-house. It's not like Nomos are making some horological innovations with their slightly modded ETA movements. It's not like Omega, who took an ETA and threw Daniels' co-axial escapement on top. It's quite far from Seiko developing precise hi-beat movements or Bulova developing the tuning fork watch.
Regarding movement decoration, there is still quite a gap from some Côte de Genève to what the artisans at, say, Lange are doing to those watches, polishing every bezel by hand.
