What do you think about Shalimar Edp for a guy? I can't find it to sample but I've been reading a lot and the one caveat when someone mentions a man wearing it is the powdery smell. I'm fine with it, if it's similar to Dior homme, I fucking love the iris in Dior homme parfum. Everything about it sounds good to me, citrus opening, powdery, vanilla. What worries me is if it's gonna be too feminine with the flowers its got.

Damn, I was just a bit too late to the thread, my first guess would have been original Encre, it attracts people who love posting that sort of slightly snobbish comments. Though, I would never pinpoint it to Extreme flanker, my experiences wearing that one are far different.

Bulgari black has only a few hours of strength if that so I'm now needing another frag. I have Versace Eros but I never wear it because it is too strong for my office.

Just ordered some samples I'm excited to try.
Two from the Le Labo City Exclusives - Gaiac 10 and Mousse de Chene 30

I have yet to try a Le Labo that I really liked, but I have been wanting to try Gaiac for a while. I love woody 'soliflores' like tam dao and hinoki. I also tend toward lighter/ skin scents, so it should be up my ally.
MdC is the only other exclusive that piqued my interest, figured I'd try it while I have the chance.

I also got a sample of Bottega Veneta Olivo. Hoping for something like Philosykos without the sweet coconut and maybe a more prominent woodiness. Olive accord sounds interesting, have no idea what to expect.

Anybody taking advantage of the city exclusives?

I generally don’t like Le Labo, but Mousse de Chene interests me. Oakmoss, Patchouli, Pink Pepper. Some of my favorite notes. Let me know what you think of it.

Any Dutchies know if De Bijenkorf sells Le Labo or if I’d have to go to Skins? I can’t remember, but I also don’t think I’ve ever really looked for Le Labo before. Skins is a bit far from the hotel I stay at.

Tested Terre Hermes and some other overpriced shit in the meantime, not a single compliment from chicks.

First you're a normie who thinks it's just yet another weird niche scent. Then you get deep into niche and realize that there's actually way crazier stuff around. it's quite a good overview. If you're a newbie then don't do the classic mistake of buying a full bottle that you think you love. First sample stuff, then buy small decants. If you went through 5-10ml and still love the scent, consider buying a bottle. Trust me, you'll develop your nose rapidly and start hating your first full bottle purchases soon after. It'll save you a lot of money.

Depends. If you have lots of bottles, probably not, you’ll never finish it. If you only have one or two bottles at any given time, then yes. The larger bottles tend to be significantly cheaper per ml. Larger overall expense initially, but will come out cheaper than buying multiple small bottles over time.

I usually don't fuck with these "mass appealing" frags but I got this one for my birthday last month and just started wearing it to work, family gatherings, out with friends, to the gym, etc last week. Nothing has ever gotten me so many compliments in such a short amount of time. Erosfags can absolutely get suicided, Carbon is the real deal if you just want pussy and compliments. Not automatically obnoxious like Sauvage but you can easily make a Chad miasma if you spray a lot. And it's a fougere too (but not an aromatic fougere, more like a traditional one like Skin Bracer). :+)
