I've got nice hair so my opinion matters more than yours:

>did no-poo for 3 straight years
1) if you do not wash in extremely hot water you are not cleaning your hair
2) if you do not spend 5+ minutes vigorously washing hair (scrubbing your scalp with nails), especially after physical activity and sweating, you are not washing your hair and will get dreadlocks
3) you can get away with not washing it for 2-3 days max if you follow the above steps

I have thick curly hair and wash it everyday during the summer but I rarely use shampoo. Never had smelly hair. it takes so long for my natural oils to distribute through my hair so I’m just trying to save it from damage.

I’m a year no poo, only reason I did it was because I had a shaved head and was working on a fishing boat in Alaska. I came back after a few months up there and got complaints. It doesn’t smell so I just decided to keep up with it and see where it goes. I scrub in a hot water shower for 4ish minutes as washing.
