14489833 No.14489833 [Reply] [Original]

Give me some help boys, all I own is somewhat immature and I wish to change my space. Give me some ideas on how to do so.

Looking to build something minimal but not particularly sterile either.

Thanks

Man the fuck up and take an interest in art and design. Read books and cultivate your own taste, browse contemporary collections, go to second hand furniture stores, experience spaces you like and try to understand why you like them. Stop thinking the opinion of some retard on an anonymous message board is the panacea to your unrefined taste and tacky belongings. Go live an interesting life and your home will become interesting too

there are easy and hard plants. As long as you have the right ones and they get some light and not too much water (you only water when the soil is dry) you won't have much of a problem.

>>14496121
what's wrong with post-rock and hiphop? You really should not judge someones music taste by 9 records. All of them are great btw the only critic I could think of is that they are not niche enough or too much /mu/core which is laughable.

probably yes but it also depends on the Color spectrum (most are alright) just do a bit of research you can get away with some LED's that don't use too much and put them on a timer . 4-5h's could be enough

A dimmer lamp on the wall in the computer alcove, the kind with a screen in front so you don't see the bulb directly. Not just books, but decorative objects, photo frames, small plant pots and simple utilitarian storage space without taking up much otherwise usable room. Small wall shelves are practical and you can put whatever you want on them.

that bookshelf table thing isn't helping you. the thickness of the wood is taking up space and doesn't match anything else. like, your closet is thin and metal and then you have this wooden slab just to dump some books.

consider a shelf unit that stretches to the top of the ceiling. doesn't have to be even-tiered shelving can be a nice balance for books and plants-but right now that thing is an eye sore and taking up so much space.

>> No.14501714

i second the chair. the whole blocky wood feel of the room is jarring with the angular ceiling.

i wouldnt go full office chair. a half chair can help with back posture too, even certain stools. but the space is unique so i wouldn't over crowd it with tall, angular or blocky furniture
