a big, wide mirror on the wall opposite the window. Pictures and shelves mounted on the walls. A dimmer lamp on the wall in the computer alcove, the kind with a screen in front so you don't see the bulb directly. A magazine stand or some other slim storage thing at the short end of the computer desk. Some fucking padding for your chair if not a whole new chair entirely, holy shit that thing will ruin your back.

Not just books, but decorative objects, photo frames, small plant pots and simple utilitarian storage space without taking up much otherwise usable room. Small wall shelves are practical and you can put whatever you want on them.

that bookshelf table thing isn't helping you. the thickness of the wood is taking up space and doesn't match anything else. like, your closet is thin and metal and then you have this wooden slab just to dump some books.

consider a shelf unit that stretches to the top of the ceiling. doesn't have to be even-tiered shelving can be a nice balance for books and plants-but right now that thing is an eye sore and taking up so much space.

i wouldnt go full office chair. a half chair can help with back posture too, even certain stools. but the space is unique so i wouldn't over crowd it with tall, angular or blocky furniture
