Sure, buying frag without trying it first would be pretty stupid. Also brands like Versace and Dior aren't even that expensive, chances are they have some free samples available for some of their frags.
Ask if they have some for the ones you want to try, if not a spray on the back of your hand shouldn't be a problem, but maybe find out how to test frags before.

It's mandatory to try perfume before you even consider of buying. Perfumes are much more complicated and actually determining if you like a fragrance through out it's life cycle (opening - mid - drydown) is necessary. That being said, my experience with boutique perfume clerks is much better than department store ones. Especially Dior, Chanel and Guerlain clerks are a treat to sniff along with. I can understand your anxiety as it is something I struggle with as well but it's not such a big deal. Use these kinds of interactions to little by little overcome your social adversities.

I tried spice bomb recently. It smelled pretty good and had good performance/projection, but it was very generic to me, like something i smelled a million times before but amplified. Women love this type of shit. It is an above average scent and would be a solid choice for when you cuddle with your girlfriend during the winter time.

You can order a sample of Terre d Hermes and Fahrenheit at Fragantica for a couple bucks and I suggest you try it for yourself. Personally I don't quite like citrusy fragrances and thats the reason I disliked TDH, I was excited after reading its aroma profile but the whole day I could only smell an overpowering smell of oranges on myself.
As for Fahrenheit I actually like it as, being the son of a car mechanic, brings back fond memories of my dad's workshop; the drydown smells different for me for some reason, like some sort of fruit candy.
Anyway try them yourself and for your own opinion, also if you take my advice and order some samples, try maybe Guerlain L Homme Ideal it has some citric notes but its mostly a woody or gourmand fragrance in my opinion.

Got my first compliment today, was wearing 2 sprays zara rich leather and 2 sprays zara vibrant leather.

Testing Breath of God today. It’s weird. I’m not sure if I like it or not yet. The opening is basically smoke, plus a little melon, but the drydown starts to turn into kind of a fruity-spicy spearmint gum. Very unusual, very interesting, never quite smelled anything like it. Glad to have it just because of its uniqueness, but I don’t know if it’s something I’ll wear much.

Old spice was the first one I got as a christmas gift but I guess the first real one was Calvin Klein Eternity. When I was 15 pops took me to a shopping mall and there was this island with fragrances. Any good workplace summer frags with good longevity? I've tried Bvlgari Aqva, Bvlgari Blv, and L'Eau D'Issey PH. All of them are basically gone in a couple hours.
