Wearing Montale Red Vetiver today because some retards said it was a clone of Terre D'hermes.

It has the peppery mineral vetiver drydown of TdH but there is a huge grilled meat smoke note up front with a sort of plastic leather as well.

It's just not pleasant. TdH had some notes that people called dirty, musty or mature but I love it, been a piece of cake to wear. Red Vetiver smells cheaper and its unplesant.

However if you're a pajeet who loves frags that fill a whole room and don't care what the room smells like, Red Vetiver is for you. You'll smell stronger than your local designated shitting street.

Their next one is being teased or leaked. The consensus is either whale or squid from the clues and hints. Due this fall. It is their take on a salty aquatic. I really hope its not an every storm a serenade dock scent. Frog would make sense and be cool. I think dragonfly and chameleon have it covered though so they wont go that direction soon. They need a new dark brooding scent since bat is discontinued. It should be some kind of cave creature. Glowworm would be crazy. A blend of the dark musty with a bright shining light note. I think their sea creature line starts and ends with one since there is only so much you can do with briny aquatic. Mouse would be awesome. Like wet leather must with church incense a small sweet accord...That would actually be amazing. Mouse would be dope.

>mfw Wong lurks here (Seems like the type that would) and takes my ideas

>> No.14467059

Squid or Whale would be cool as hell. Maybe a salty, ambergris-heavy aquatic. I’ll be looking out for it.

I said frog, because frogs are the unofficial official animal of /frag/. Plus, frogs are cool. There is a fair bit of overlap between Chameleon and Dragonfly, though, that’s true. Maybe they could go with a poison arrow frog or something, make something jungly and “poisonous” smelling. Might be cool.

Glow Worm and Mouse sound cool. What about more bugs? Maybe centipede or beetle? Cicada? Mantis? Event ant would be pretty cool. Maybe something sugary, but with kind of an acidic, vinegary accord? Maybe spider or scorpion? A lot of potentially interesting bug/arachnid scents, definitely a few that could fill the dark/dank niche.

I believe they are making a new Bat. Probably wind up being something entirely different, but may be another darker scent.

Bugs are everywhere and have different lifestyles. It’s such a fun brand to discuss I wish this board would discuss it more or just have fun making animals frags up... yes I was on the last board sperging about bat. I have a 11ml coming in and I’m stoked to try it. I’ll type up a review here. I heard they maybe remaking it. But if they got cucked by regulations or something it won’t beat the OG. I have hyrax and civet samples coming with it. I have moth, dragonfly, chameleon, and dodo already. Moth is really cool, underrated not very talked about. Zoologist does great animatic nofes. >> No.14468117

>>14467971
Fougeres are a style based on invariably lavender, coumarin, and most of the time bergamot/citrus and some kind of moss or amber in the base. Cool Water is an "aromatic" fougere because it contains the basic framework but also a large amount of aromatic components (coriander, peppermint, rosemary, orange blossom, etc). The so called "aquatic" feeling you are getting is from an aromachemical called "dihydromyrcenol" which smells like an abstract metallic fruity fresh thing. It does not contain brown algae, calone, or anything which defines water despite it's clever marketing.

It feels like this is like the 5th time I've explained it to you but it's really only the second...

The confusion is based on the name and the path reformulations took.

Where you aware that Cool Water was one of the original "inspired by/clone" fragrances? It was a designer version of Creed Green Irish Tweed, and made by the same nose too.

The original Lancaster version of CW was WAY heavier, dense, and more green. It was a designer GIT with a slight "watery" smell due to aromachemicals but the drydown was really close to GIT.

As time went on, restrictions on certain ingredients and formula tweaks took CW away from a heavier fougere and to what it is today.

Coty Aspen was a clone/inspired by version of Cool Water. It's weaker now than it used to be but closer to it's original smell than CW. So if you want to know what CW used to smell like, smell Aspen.

Basically, it's understandable not to call CW a fougere now even though it still is but holy shit if you smelled it when it first came out there was no denying it. It came out in 88, I got my bottle in 89 or 90 I think, smelled a bottle a couple years back and wouldn't touch the stuff now.

This. Brown dudes can be ok if their family has been here enough generations, but fresh off the boats or second generations? They’re hilariously gross little monkey people. Not trying to be racist, but I worked with a ton of them and all the stereotypes are true. We had to fire one dude because his job was answering phones and whenever a women who didn’t sound 80 called, he’d awkwardly hit on her. Also a bunch dudes who didn’t wear deodorant and smelled like ripe ass and thought wearing enough 1 Million to be smelled halfway across the city would make up for it (spoiler: it doesn’t). I have no idea what the fuck is wrong with India, but holy hell does their culture create horrible “men” who are completely lacking in self-awareness.

Your asking for a bottle that no one will ever see to come in plain black, when you know damn well if you ever set foot in Sephora, Macys, Nordstroms etc that the over whelming majority of frags dont come in black bottlea much less plain black.

This is so advance level faggotry, and you could contain it by typing the names into google and answering your own question.

But I'm going to help you anyway.

None of them are plain as in plain black with no markings.

Panda’s probably the closest we’ll get. I’d love a bear scent, though. Could do a polar bear scent, something cold smelling. That’d be pretty cool. A grizzly bear scent would probably be too similar to T Rex.

>> No.14470636

>>14470615
Forgot they had panda. Yeah I was thinking more like grizzly or black bear. It'd probably smell like damp pine and tree sap imo. Polar bear would be interesting. I wonder how they'd replicate the cold, barren feeling of the ice caps with the strength and predatory nature of polar bears without just going "wintergreen lmao."

>> No.14470643

>>14470636
I’d think polar bear, they’d go with some mint and oakmoss/arctic plants, some woods, probably musks and leathers, maybe a bit of that blood accord from T Rex. I think the key to an arctic scent would be the botanicals. Oakmoss, like I said above, lichens, juniper, evergreen trees. I’m thinking kind of a non-sweet/fruity, darker version of Vagabond Prince’s Enchanted Forest.

Zoologists was always good. They are gimmicky, but that doesn’t make them bad. I think they have a fun, interesting concept, and they make some very unique scents. Quality of all their scents is very good. If you’re just looking for panty droppers, they’re the wrong house, but if you like unique, well-blended (albeit it sometimes “challenging”) scents, they’re very worth sampling.

Well, after about a year after its discovery, I think I will settle for "This Is Not A Blue Bottle 1.1" as my signature frag. It was love at first sniff but it was so early on in my fragrance discovery that I felt I was missing something. So I bought a ton of samples and bottles, but still, this one stands out. Also it's affordable.

fairly safe blind buy. unless you are really adverse to a juniper/gin smell or wanted something really light for summer, you won't be disappointed

I'm so glad that I took Bright Neroli and Carve L'Eau Intense with me for a trip. It's around 30 degrees here every single day. So I pulled a trigger on the sample set of MDCI. I ordered 2x Chypre Palatin and 3x Invasion Barbare. The fact that money spent on these can be deducted from the full bottle price makes their bottles not as pricey as I thought. I hope they'll arrive at UK before me.

Also I went to a club last Friday and holy shit literally every zoomer was wearing 1 million. I'm used to notice it in clubs in Europe as well but not to that extent. I'm also surprised with girls here - I expected that half of them will be obese SJW amerimuts but most are quite cute (but a bit boring blonde copies of eachother). On the other hand they are as slutty as stereotypes say - I pulled out one chick from the club who was like 19yo to my place and she wanted to do anal.

That's quite nice colection Anon. Congratulations. I love rose+oud frags however, Oud Ispahan was way to feminine for me. I prefer Black Aoud over it albeit it's missing some of nuances of Dior. How is Leather Oud?

>How is Davidoff?

I'm assuming you mean Cool Water and not Silver Shadow in the background. Smells like straight up toilet cleaner in the opening than mellows out to be like a manly deodorant like smell. Good performance which you'd expect from a synthetic smelling frag.

>Maison Margiela Replica - At the Barber's

Idk what to say really. Smells like an expensive shaving foam. I prefer Rive Gauche though, both smell and performance wise.

>Fahrenheit

I have the chance to own an OG 1988 bottle (small one), as well as a 2018 batch. They smell pretty much alike. Strong gasoline smell. Great performance.

Hope that helps.

I'm a guy in his mid 20's with a babyface. I still often get ID'd for drink.
My collection so far has been cheapish frags (Issey Miyake, ADG Profumo, Fuel for Life, Individuel etc) but given I can afford jackets and jeans from Alpha Industries, Lacoste, A&F as well as looking into getting some hypebeast tier accessories, I'm wondering if I should increase my frag budget a little?
I don't mind sampling niche frags but where should I start? I'd like an all rounder for summer as well as a heavy but not cloying autumn/winter frag that'll cut through the cold but not be too obscure smelling.

It’s not even that women like them the best. Women tend to like whatever you’re wearing if they like you. It’s that the #fragrancejihad Arabs/Pajeets think women like them the best, and they only watch because they think wearing a “panty dropper” will totally get them tons of female attention like Jeremy gets (pays for) in his videos.

Jeremy’s a salesman and he wants everyone to love him. Of course he goes “mass appealing” in his videos.

Try layering Kiehls Musk and Guerlain Vetiver. Combo is a floral vetiver with a golden musk base. Better than Bal D'Afrique which is a similar theme IMHO. It smooths some of the rough edges from the vetiver and brightens it up, and tones down the soapy side of Kiehls. I think it would work even better with Grey Vetyver but not so much with Encre Noire.

Hello, lad! Go to Bloom and speak to manager Oksana (blonde) and cons Alla (both Russians), avoid having conversations with that male faggot.

Zoo is overpriced af. Try Piere Guillame (probably diff spelling) instead.

The only nice thing for that boutique is that you have poss to buy any sample for 2£

Les Senteurs is better place, more down to earth frags. Cute redhead cons (studied in France btw). Up to 2 free samples.

Gucci Pour Homme II is a nice parfume, smells like tea and a touch of honey but sillage and longevity are poor((

Upd about Les Senteurs - you cannot buy any samples directly from offline shop, 2 free samples maximum. From online even Yatagan is >3£ for 1ml sample with stick, overpriced af. Full bottles are overpriced as well BUT there I ve purchased Desert Suave when it wasn’t available literally anywhere in the West Europe online, other locations don’t get my trust, from US is expensive tax/delivery.
