A lot of wealthy people do that. I know of people with real AP and PP who do that.

Now ask yourself. What if you and a friend did a time-share on a Rolex. You keep it somewhere safe and wear the fake. You confide in people you have a real one and a fake, you dont like to wear the real one as its valuable. You sometimes show people the real one.

If your same DNA time travelled 50 years back and was born then you would be very anti gay, anti black. You would have the beliefs of the time. And you have all these beliefs now. None of them came from within you.

If the real issue is not believing its real then just pay $50 for one hour with a hypnotist. You just saved 10k and are happier. "but now i believe something thats not true" - congrats, most of what everyone believes about most things is not true.

I'm probably a moralfag or have been brainwashed by the mountain jews, but that was just my experience. I ended up giving the fakes to my friends since I never wore them. I did buy an actual watch. Look at the quality and finish. Keeps great time too according to reviews. Its a replica though. Heres an article on actual diamonds you might like https://www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/fashion/style/a15840352/lab-grown-diamonds-real-diamonds-difference/

Can you show me a $400 watch with a design and finish quality like this? I will buy it if you link one.

I might even pay 5x as much for a genuine watch with this quality of finish and style. But I did not find any for 2k. And when I do find something that comes close I get so many comments calling me poor or pathetic or cant-afford-a-rolex-then-dont-buy-anything that I think why bother? I make just shy of 200k a year and I am frugal. Looking to invest it all in SaaS

I considered Maurice Lacroix Aikon 39mm - but everyone shat on it as being a poor fake of an AP royal oak. So I didnt get it and thought if my choices were to get a really good design and finish quality it would either be 8k for a genuine 2nd hand of a solid watch or 400 for a new replica.

>> No.14454781

>>14454762

The super replicas are only $400 - and they get closer and closer each year. You might have even had one. But super replica is just a term used by people on replica forums. They have lists where they track the different versions and rank them. The best way to know if it is or isnt is to look at those lists and read reviews

The low quality Chinese replications are $200

See a comparison here https://www.reddit.com/r/RepTime/comments/c8fu4a/dhgate_vs_jf_factory_audemars_piguet_royal_oak/

I wouldnt spend thousands on a replica either. Id get a used omega for a few grand instead.

Any of you lads know what casio watches display current time while in stopwatch? I know the dw5600 does but if I get another gshock itd be nice to have the multiband and solar. I also heard the dw5600 you can only set the countdown timer in one direction ie if it was at 5 min and you wanted to go to 2 min you'd have to cycle all the way through. Can anyone confirm? I'd like to get a classic shaped casio or square gshock but I'd be open to other stuff.

Sure a fake watch tells the time just like a cubic zirconia looks pretty but both are not the genuine article that they are a substitute for. But hey if a fake watch makes you happy go for it. An actual watch nerd will spend the money to get the genuine article not to show off but for there own gratification.

Hamiltons are decent watches. They're about as cheap as Swiss made mechanicals get. The strap dimensions of that watch should be either 20 or 22 mm, so just find another watch band you like with that dimension and it will fit.

That watch design is typically known as a field watch, or a military/army watch, so you might want to google those terms to look at others you might like.

I used to fall for Parnis/china meme but here is my experience.
Parnis submariners - bracelet clasp fucked up in 3 months, non-standard lug holes so no aftermarket fits.
Date adjust died on one.
Parnis PA6007 - absolutely worst lug design ever, too big gap for rubber/leather straps, 23mm so no NATO/Zulu fits, no aftermarket steel bracelet. Also the clasp got fucked up in few months. I had to hack together rubber strap + endlinks from original bracelet.
Bagelsport "Nautilus" - great finish but stock clasp must be replaced asap, date quickset died fast, right after that whole date got fucked up. Also accuracy is sub-par even for worst chinese/russian watches, my watchmaker told me it's just shit movement, he tried everything to adjust it but fucker is +- 5min/day by default whatever the chinks say.
Bagelsport "Daytona" - crown tube got fucked up really quick.

I'm no idiot that uses them improperly, i have 10+ y.o. Citizens and Seikos that have been running as daily drivers whole time and had 0 problems with them.
Also my Raketa big zero & few vostok watches have 0 problems.
But the chinks just kill themself after few months of use due to QC & design problems, also they have 0 resale value.
Also what's the point of buying a mechanical watch if it's mass produced cheap chink piece of shit with shit tier movement assembled by kids in sweatshops?
Wasn't the heritage and manufacturing the whole point of buying mechanical?
Also there are plenty of Seikos and other in that price range, i bought a SNZH60 for price of average parnis, but instead of chink shit it's actually a usable and pretty japanese watch.
Chinks went nuts with prices, it was all god when they were in 50$ range, but who pays 150$ for parnis is fucking nuts, thats SKX007 range.

Objective reasons why Longines is the best watch brand in the world:
- Gorgeous, memorable logo and name
- The winged hourglass logo, which was registered in 1889, is the oldest unchanged yet still active registeredtrademark
- ETA began making custom movements reserved for Longines - technically in-house movements, since they’re part of the same manufacturer
- The CEO of Longines, Walter von Känel, isn’t some hired commercial manager, but worked 50 (!) years for the brand
- Annual calendar watch for only $2000
- Best watches in the $1000-$2000 range with the Master and Heritage collection
- 5th most profitable watch brand in the world, just below Patek Philippe
- Honest watchmaking: you’re paying for functionality, design and quality
- The Heritage chronograph might as well be the most beautiful watch in the world
- Has ETA production factories reserved for itself
- Designs full of understated class
- Rich history and heritage: founded 75 years before Rolex and 15 years before Omega
- Perfect price point, between posh luxury and cheapish brands
- Audrey Hepburn adored the brand. Buy it for her
- Albert Einstein adored the brand. Trust the opinion of the smartest man in the world
- Introduced the very first watch with an LCD screen to the market
- Brought its first Quartz to the market in the same year as Seiko, announced the first commercial Quartz before Seiko
- Brought United States watchmaking know-how to Switzerland
- „Elegance is an attitude“

I'll say this -- it probably wouldn't have been my first choice either, but god damn, do I love a "clean" watch.

A clean watch is one that's elegant enough to wear to a wedding, but tough enough to wear while out and about. A clean watch is one that you can safely take on vacation, because it goes with virtually every outfit, and although it's not cheap, it's not outlandishly expensive either. A clean watch is one that will go unnoticed by most people, and receive little more than an appreciative nod or comment from fellow watch lovers, so that you can get on with your day.

A clean watch is one that I can appreciate because I want to appreciate watches, point, blank, period.

This is a clean watch. Congrats on the watch itself, and an apparently good year.

An Explorer as the only watch is not going to happen. It is just the beginning of a very expensive habit. Kind of like trying drugs and telling yourself you are just experimenting and you will not get addicted.

When I was younger, I was in love with the then 36mm Explorer I. I scraped up enough money for it ( around $3K at that time) and bought one from the big T. For the first year or so, I was so in love with it wearing it everywhere. It was the perfect Rolex that can dress up or down.

After I started wearing my Explorer, I was paying attention to what other people were wearing, especially my friends. As time goes by, my peers progressed in their careers and started to buy more and more expensive watches. The watch bug grew and grew and I too started to buy different expensive watches ( a few thousands is my definition of expensive).

Throughout these years, I have bought and sold some really nice watches including Rolexes, IWCs, Panerais,Bugalris, B&Rs..etc.

So my friend, your idea of one watch for all seasons is not going to last.

But we all know that they just want to save cost.

They did a good job on their new diver with the bracelet but still could not bother to design some lugs. I bet it's just "not worth" it to try and design lugs that would fit these disgusting, square lugs.
