90% of women will see this and think: "wow what an amazing watch. Its not a Rolex but it seems to be a reputable brand as there is all kinds of high quality engraving and 3d... unlike that other guy's 'tudor' which looks cheap and fake and flat and doesnt have chronograph"

Look at the dial on this lobinni... Perfection....

When a woman sees this watch she will have a much better impression than most other watches. Of course a Rolex or Patek or AP would be better. But if you arent getting one of those, she wont know the brand or care, and its the look of quality and the dial that count.

I never gave a shit about watches at all, ever, until I got a smart watch that gives me my heart rate as a graph and tells me how deep I slept last night. Now suddenly I care about watches but I hate that none of the good looking ones have useful health motiroing...

I want a Hublot with the internals of a Hauwei

>> No.14451083

>>14450853
That wouldn't even be a proper smartwatch. It's a Chinese bracelet with a photodiode and an accelerometer. A proper smart watch would be running Wear OS or, well, an Apple Watch.

Apart from not many people here being fond of those, I actually did wear one for a couple of weeks a while back. I just don't see the point. Do you do strict HIIT training or why is your heartrate important? What do you do when you find you only had an hour of deep sleep last night? Call off work and sleep some more?

Imo, it's just a gimmick. Just as something like a luxury watch is kind of a gimmick. You will still know what time it is, clocks are everywhere. But at least you won't look like a faggot with some Chinese data mining device on your wrist.

>> No.14451151

>>14451083

Yes I do HIIT outdoors or in a squat rack and need the accurate HRM. Cant use exercise bike for it.

I got the watch also as I have insomnia that comes in waves. I needed to track if I was sleeping well or not after the insomnia lead to a trip to the emergency room.

> What do you do when you find you only had an hour of deep sleep last night?

It lets me prepare. I have some cutthroat colleagues who sense weakness and if I am tired or vulnerable that is when they will try and fuck up my work or humiliate me publicly. I can put more energy to preparing defenses to attacks. Sounds silly but I swear by it, its saved me a few times.

I also am just learning lots about myself. My average heart rate goes up 5-10bpm if I drank alcohol the night before. My heartrate also spikes after coffee more if I am stressed - so I can see if I am stressed by looking for the spike.

Often it is hard to tell just how stressed you are or how deeply you slept. I have learnt I just dont sleep deep in hotels. Also on hot nights. So I have invested more in fans and humidifiers and stuff.

> But at least you won't look like a faggot with some Chinese data mining device on your wrist.

I agree it looks like a toy. I bought a few nice straps to try and mitigate this. The AMOLED screen is really nice though, cant see the pixels. Its also one of the smallest smart watches. The rest are way too big.

Just worked out a Rolex submariner would take 250 hours of working to afford. Or 6 weeks of work at 37 hours a day.
That’s a shit load. This is unacceptable and would be a much better idea to invest it in my mortgage or retirement. I’ll stick to sub-£500 watches which are far more interesting and fun anyway. Every cunt and his dog in London has a sub.

A good place to start is cost. Again, use our watch-rankings to gauge what category you can afford.

Then look for the function you want for the watch (diver, sports chronograph, aviation, trains, fashion, etc) and consider the person you're buying the watch for. For a young person under 20 years old consider a fashion watch, perhaps a Movado, Calvin Klein, or even a Breitling.

For somebody in their early 20's consider adding Sapphire and start getting closer to the Swiss Made brands such as a fun Tag Heuer or a Tissot.

A meaningful purchase will consist of sapphire crystal and a mechanical automatic movement. The price of the watch increases when the movement is higher ETA grade or in-house. The price continues to rise when the watch workmanship and refinement increases, certain complications are added and precious metals such as gold and diamonds are used.

Someone in their 30's can have a couple of Automatic watches, perhaps a Cartier, IWC or perhaps a Corum.

Someone in their 40's can start having a Rolex, Harry Winston or a Zenith while someone in their 50's can go all out with the likes of Patek Philippe, Breguet, Jaeger LeCoultre.

If limited to two watched, a good option would be to have a normal wear watch as a Rolex and a dress-up watch as a Patek Philippe.

If your budget has no limits AND you're in the circles where a rare timepiece can be appreciated then pick from the Ultra Luxury brands.

Modern Rolex has gone to shit. Their cases have gotten bigger for no good reason (maxi case reeee), bezels wider, fonts uglier (the numerals on modern GMTs are stolen from a CoD box art), and the hideous LEXROLEXRO rehaut. The whole catalogue is more austentacious to suit the new-money market. I don't know why anyone would choose a 6 digit over a 5 digit sub, and don't even get me started on the ceramic daytona. This is the only 6 digit rolex I would consider purchasing however. I feel like it's one of very few in the catalouge that embraces the new design and utilises it effectively instead of masquerading as a 10k "tool" watch. The numerals on the bezel look way better in relief than engraved, the satin blue sunburst is the nicest they do, the matte and polished platinum bezel ties in perfectly to the brushed and polished bracelet etc. It has come to terms with its "look at me I'm rich" appearance and plays it to its advantage against rolex's new target market. I think the YM1 is the most underrated watch in the rolex lineup

The watch Anon. The strap was broken and in his mind the logical approach was to destroy it with a fucking huge pair of pliers like a fetus and then pull the pin out with the them which is what he was trying to do when I caught him. The lug and everything around is completely scratched and mangled.
I don't think I've ever been this sad for a physical object. Maybe it's because it was a gift.
