I have some questions for people who bought online from sites like amazon / ebay. How was it? it's worth buying or it's too risky? should i do it and buy to see or just goes to store . I don't think all of them are fake, but still, a high chance especially for Fragrances.

>brown algae defines water
What on earth are you even talking about? I can’t even think of a mainstream aquatic that smells like “brown algae.” Aquatics are chock full of calone, which actually just smells like salty watermelons (one of it’s tradenames is watermelon ketone). Fougere’s can’t be “aquatic” because fougere is an accord (lavender, coumarin, geranium, sometimes either musk or moss) that the style is named after. That’s like saying a Ferrari is a hearse. They’re not made like that.

I can’t believe I’m even responding to this noselet. I try to inform you but you’re being a disrespectful little zoomer. Knock it off.

I've bought 4 fragrances from Amazon and all four were legit and shipped correctly. 2 Guerlain, 1 ELDO, and 1 AdP; three of them were sold by Amazon themselves, one was from a third-party. I think, like eBay, it will be fine as long you look up the seller and pick one with a lot of reviews and a very, very high rating. And if you're worried about shipping problems, make sure the seller's items are "fulfilled by Amazon" as well.

>Havana
Very snice green tobacco chypre that requires some confidence to be pulled off but is not dated unlike Aramis Aramis. One of my favs for Autumn. Also cheap as hell.
>Eau Sauvage
Probably my favourite scent for last 6 months and the best designer fragrance in my opinion. Someone talked in the last thread that if their house was burnt they would just stick with Dior Homme. For me it’s be Eau Sauvage. Very versatile as it can be worn at almost any season to almost any occasion where I have a shirt on my chest, let it be an oxford shirt with rolled up sleeves and three buttons undone on vacations at Amalfi, a date, or a business meeting. I remember that I read once a mini essay in some book about fragrances about the original Roudnitska’s Eau Sauvage that one anon was posting a few threads back. It was called the epitome of a french playboy - perfectly clean appearance and a charming smile outside but something dark and contradictory inside. I’ve never smelled the original vintage version but the 2017 Parfum version fills this description fully in my opinion with its mix of vibrant citruses outside and elemi-vetiver accord lurking from inside. Really gorgeous stuff that I should buy a few backup bottles of. EDT is also nice but fresher.
>YSL
It was a gift by one of my ex gfs around 5 years ago. She told me that that’s how she’d like her man to smell, so I’m a bit sentimental with this one. I use it for occasions where I want to smell nice but pleasant to everyone. Think job interviews. It’s the most inoffensive but still masculine scent I know.
>Carven
That’s a great cheapie done by Francis Kurkdjian. The most refreshing fragrance in my collection. Great when it’s 30+ degrees outside. Gives you almost icecold cool feeling.

That was me that mentioned Dior Homme. I was speaking about the whole Homme line, but I’ve not had much experience with the Eau Sauvage line. I’ve tried a sample of Eau Sauvage in Debenhams but as nice as it was it was too short lived. I don’t worry about longevity as much as some but it reminded me a little of Colonia Essenza (albeit lighter) but the difference wasn’t strong enough to justify a full bottle. I still need to try the Parfum however, and from the way you’ve described it it sounds like what I’ve been missing, which is an all season fragrance.

The closest I have to all season is AHSEE, and that doesn’t suit the high heat. Aventus is close, but I don’t think it suits the winter.

I’ll try Eau Sauvage Parfum next time I get a chance.

There’s no point in counterfeiting an Armaf or al Haramain. It should be relatively safe to buy designer or niche fragrances as well as long as they’re purchased directly from amazon, but there’s really no point given that most popular releases sell for retail or close enough to retail as to make no difference. there are two types of Mancera(and Montale i think), produced in different places. Bottles are either engraved like yours or have sticker on the bottom. I'd try returning it and asking for a different bottle till you get one with a sticker.

there's a story to be told. of good and evil. a cosmic schism, a wild funnel where the point of singularity, the only escape is only the beginning. the story is true and it's become a cold tale told in warm places. a story of the eater and the eaten. people speak of ysl. yes, they speak of the house and it's cherished, it's glistenings. of it's revered, always it's revered with that air of sophistication, of softness and care. something complacent and beautiful and has made a custom of turning it's back on it's wicked dealings, it's past it hopes to forget in the silence of death. this has become futile, because in the years since the tremor has only become more violent, and in these years they've learned to disregard the hunger. they've starved it but is doesn't die. it only becomes hungrier... and in it's place they've become a symbol of regality, of sterile streamlined luxury in a white room. le vestiaire des parfums they call it. simplicity and elegance. a swooning dance in sweeping silk on a bed of vapors... a dream even. all in vain because it's been fed only the best, and it's never known a want. it's slept ceaslessly, carelessly above the earth where at it's center spins in pangs of hunger and fury, of agony something brutish. they say it may come later. but later is now, the hour is now. it's been a matter of then but not now and then is now and now has been here forever... and they say to always remember that saying said only in the dark: "Tuxedo is the mother, Kouros is the wolf."

Old fuck checking in.

Wearing Aedes de Venustas Copal Azur.

A bit of a mix between a niche AdG Profumo and a more coastal CdG take on incense with the silky cardamom note from Atelier de Ors
Crepescule des Ames.

This is fucking fantastic! An airy, cool salty incense, a bright almost citric myrrh note, fantastic take on cardamom and a salty ozone note. Smells like incense in an old catholic church on the coast of Italy mixed with a high class shave and the smell of hot wind blowing off the ocean. Not aquatic, not the smell of being in water but the smell of being close to the sea.

I have no idea why no one talks about this fragrance. Great longevity, doesn't project much but thats not my style unless I'm rocking a powerhouse like Antaeus or Kouros. Blew through my samples, going to put it down for two weeks and if I still love it when I wear it again I'm getting a bottle. Has a Mediterranean chic feel to it, absolutely beautiful fragrance. I'm not one to overhype frags and say they are evocative of a place or setting because truthfully most aren't even if they smell great.
This is an exception however. That's what I love about frags. Even after wearing them for 30 years every now and then something absolutely blows me away.

I’m back from the trip already and I met the girl. I sprayed Kouros twice at my neck at the end for giggles. She was really sweet not sassy at all as I assumed while writing with her. We went to a nice Thai place for a dinner and then drinks at my hotel as she was all ears listening about my travels and other stuff so I invited her to show her photos to my place. We chatted a bit more, been drinking wine and started watching the photos on the bed. Then you can guess what has happened we started making out and soon after I fucked her. She wanted to cuddle afterwards and I asked her how she likes my fragrance. She took a sniff from my neck and said ‘it’s nice’. We talked and laughed a bit more at bed, I fucked her for the second time and she soon after wanted to go out for some silent disco at a beach. I stayed home as I had to wake up rather early the next day. I might invite her to London actually at some point.

I’m coming back home with a bottle of New York Intense. Their boutique is almost claustrophobically small but the sales guy was really snice. I had a chat with him about fragrances in general (he was wearing oud wood) and Nicolai. Apparently most of their clients are Arabs who spend there thousands of pounds at once, including Kuwait royal family that love Nicolai (this is not so surprising given the location of the boutique in South Kensington where there are more Land Rovers and Bentleys than people). What is surprising is the pricetag which is not as big as you could expect judging from the clientele of the brand. I’d even say that for the quality the fragrances of Nicolai are mindblowingly cheap. I’ve got mine 30ml bottle for £50 with a very nice presentation in a magnetic box. I wouldn’t be surprised if the price started increasing to match more of Roja/Xerjoff levels. Again, I was blown out by the quality of these fragrances. Intense versions last on me around 8h which is very unusual on my skin and compositions scream of natural ingredients. Apart from New York Intense my favourites were Patchouli Intense and Cape Neroli. You should check out Nicolai Parfums boys.

I’m seriously considering of reducing my collection to these 5 bottles + MDCI Chypre Palatin once the summer will be over (I use only cheapies over summer anyways). This covers pretty much every occasion and season other than hot summer in UK. Having just 6 bottles and decanting/sampling new stuff seems to me like quite chill idea as well.

I just got a taster set of 4160 Tuesdays London. Quite snice niche perfumery.

>Scenthusiasm
Dislike - smells literally like Hendricks gin. You might be interested though pal >>14438034
>Rome 1963
Dislike - not particularly surprised as I hate dark chocolate + turberose accord. For the very same reason I don't like Café Tuberosa Atelier Cologne.
>Ealing Green
It's OK - too powdery, smells like grandma's closet.
>Another Kiss
It's snice - too feminine but definitely lovely composition. It reminds me of one of rose Tom Fords but I don't remember which one and Malle's Portrait of a Lady with patchouli's sweetness there replaced by cinamon leaf (?). I might cop a bottle for my girlfriend.
>Lion Cupboard
Love - amazing tobbacco leaves and cocoa. It's pity that the anise note is so prominent because it reminds me a bit of some oriental dish thanks to it. I've tested all of these on paper strips though, so hopefully on my skin it'll be a bit different.
>Freeway
Love - I don't know how McCartney's done it but it's the first tobacco fragrance that asks to be worn in summer. It's really fresh thanks to vanilla, orange and cannabis notes. Tobacco adds additional dimension to this fresh combo that makes it deep and sexy. I might get a bottle if I will go through the sample fast.
>Shazam
Love - amazing cedar that has so much of character and boldness that I've mistaken it for oud at first. Lovely, very much Serge Lutens-like fragrance.
>The Sexiest Scent on the Planet. Ever. IMHO
Love - literally just bergamot, wood, vanilla, ambergris as listed on fragrantica. But it's indeed very sexy and fresh. Might cop a bottle.

It's amazing. I don't know if you've smoked a cigar but it has all the nuances of a good tobacco leaves rolled on thighs of hot Cuban milfs. Reminds me a lot of San Cristobal de la Habana but with a cherry plottwist. It's really masculine and comfy at the same time.

I've actually sold my bottle a couple days ago. I liked it but didn't reach enough for it to be honest to keep it. Dark Heart is very interesting. It’s very sweet, almost sickly sweet, boozy, has some tobacco, a lot of semi-fermented fruit, sort of burnt sugar accord. Great for winter, wouldn’t try it during the summer. Again, not fancy, but fun.

Centrepiece is sort of an exotic floral-vanilla. You definitely get the frangipani. Also pretty sweet, so also best for winter.

Eau My Soul is a bit smoky, a bit woody, boozy, but not too sweet. Kind of smells a bit like jasmine tea to me. A lot of sandalwood, too. I’d say it’s light enough to wear during the summer, heavy enough for winter. Pretty versatile. My favorite from the house so far.

I also like that her prices are pretty reasonable. Far too many indies out there charging Creed-level prices (or higher). You can get full bottles of her scents even if they’re something you probably won’t wear too often guilt-free.

Also, have a good trip, brother. I usually only bring one full bottle when I travel (usually MI). Maybe when I go to Amsterdam again in the fall, I’ll try bringing a few decants. Always interesting to get the ladies’ reactions to different scents. I remember last trip, Tam Dao got much more mixed reactions than MI.
