Is a button-down too casual for a suit even if I iron it and wear a tie? I noticed that I've accidentally filled my closet with oxfords and I only have one white dress shirt left and it mysteriously shrank so the sleeves are too short.

What's a good place to get dress shirts for less than like $50 anyway? I don't really care that they're super high quality as long as they fit well enough to look ok under a jacket. I rarely wear them anyway and somehow they never seem to hold up as well as my everyday shirts. Or alternatively would a different material like a royal oxford or twill hold up better?

I loved the allure of the lacoste, the softness and the badge but also badges do put me off so I’m stuck. Nice pearl buttons and a thick collar but I still didn’t 100% want to buy it and I’m not sure why.

How are sunspel?
The riviera look real thin and I’m not sure if a pocket on a polo is a good or bad thing.
Should I care that the buttons are plastic?

Everything I’ve gathered about sunspel is that it markets as higher end but is just a boomer brand trying to make a revival. Correct me if I’m wrong but the prices seems astronomical to how it looks.

Yeah they're super overpriced. I got mine on discount. I like them but you should get a feel before trying as they are made from a sort of knit fabric that is not like the lacoste at all. I never give a shit about plastic buttons except on dress shirts where I always get MOP.

I love the bright colored prep look for the summer, and I'm in the process of upgrading my wardrobe and trying to be thrifty.

Pants are no problem, ebay is good for J Crew, Bonobos, Vineyard vines, etc.I already have shoes.

The issue is shirts. I'm tall and relatively thin. 6'3, about 190. Dress shirts I can get 16.5x36 and have them tailored, but I have a hell of a time with polos.

I'm a medium tall in polos from BR, Jcrew, etc, but I'd like to explore some of the higher end brands but I don't see many that offer tall sizes. What do you recommend?

both of the seams are marginally over my shoulder joint, the difference between L and XL being like 0.5"

they are both boxy fits
L chest is 45"
XL chest is 48"
XL looks a little long in the body
my chest is 44" right now as sedentary so the L obviously looks a little better and tucks better without crease

my weight and probably chest measurement is going to change in the next 6 months and continue as I'm lifting again (used to)

I'm not sure if I should buy Ls and have them good for a few months until I'm back at around 45" or just XLs and grow into them shortly?? I'm hesitant because I was once an S and I'm sick of things shrinking or not fitting after a few months.
