My EDC watch is a couple of years old and the polished stainless parts have dulled with fine scratching, especially on the bracelet. Is there any decent home remedy or do I just need to bite the bullet and get it polished?

It's too nice of a watch (nothing super high end but still a $2500 watch) to risk ruining that way, and I like the polish anyway. It doesn't need anything super aggressive, just a proper touch-up. I guess I'll just have to take it to my guy and see how much he says it'd cost.

Scratches are fine, over or badly polished watches are trash.

This Ball. It just doesn't look right without the mirror polish on the center links, the look and quality of the polish was one of the main things that drew me to the watch in the first place and it's nowhere near as nice without it. It's not big obvious scratches that are the issue either, more about the general fine scratching that comes from wearing it under flannel shirt and jacket cuffs and has made the polished parts look almost brushed.

I came really close to buying a used one (can't remember if I saw that exact model but looked at tons of Seamasters) before I got the Ball, but just couldn't pass up the price on the latter. Yeah, it's tough, might actually be the single biggest issue they have as a company. I think there's only one or two ADs here in LA and they may not actually keep anything in stock either, and if they do it's probably just a handful of models. I think the only ones I'd ever seen IRL before I went to Japan were a couple of the "Ball for BMW" ones they used to make, on display at a BMW dealer.

I guess that's kind of a general problem for any of these midrange brands, though. I could take you to places that sell Pateks, APs, etc., and Omega/Roles/TAG etc. are easy, but I don't think I've ever seen a Sinn or a Marathon or Glashuette or anything like that at a stateside store either. Watch shopping in Japan is a damn revelation, walk into some of these stores and they've got just every watch you've ever heard of on display.

Those retailers I talk about are indeed fancy. They have their own boutiques in the mall and they are fashioned as those boutiques would be in a normal street corner boutique, with proper double doors and so on. It's kinda the same thing with fashion brands for clothes too. They have their own Dior boutique, their own Chanel boutique, and so on. Malls are the modern shopping streets. In the future more malls will have these fancy boutiques. Of course, like you say, the bigger the mall more fancy boutiques they'll have there.

Archie is a lazy, bitter, and angry clown who has to pay whores for sex (after his marriage ended). He is bisexual, fucks men and shemales. He is relatively poor for being a first worlder, can't travel without begging for money, the little money he manages to scrape together he mostly spends on luxury objects like watches and women's purses which he also collects, along with porn (he collects porn too, yes that's right). He lives in a shithole house with carpet beetles, which gives him ugly marks on his skin because the carpet beetles are eating at him. He earns only about 20k australian dollars per year, equal of 14k us dollars/12k euros. He is always greasy as you say becasuse apparently he never uses shampoo, only washes his hair with water. He has actual clinical mental issues, and he is addicted to collecting expensive shit he doesn't need, and at times he's been alcoholic too.

Now, TGV is another animal. Married with some New Yorker woman. Educated in art theory, went to an art college, resulted in a bachelor degree which probably is worthless because he doesn't care enough about art to have a real career relevant to art. He is rather successful on youtube and has a cynical business mind about how he does things there. People are calling him out as "disloyal" because he ends cross-over relationships with smaller youtube channels after he either didn't need it anymore or didn't find that it did anything good for his own channel. He made about 140k us dollars in 2018 due to his channel. Lives comfortably in NYC. His youtube channel is now bought by Watchbox, and now he does videos for himself and them. His videos are known for being well produced and edited and he has a good attention to detail. He is hard working, but takes shortcuts too as shown recently with him copying the written word from another watch journalist about a timepiece he did a review of, without giving credits to said journalist.

New watch!
Going on holiday in August and needed a new beater for swimming and snorkeling as well as fishing and general beater watch tasks. Got this nice Citizen chrono. Sapphire, 200m, radio controlled. Will have to replace the leather strap with rubber but otherwise very happy with it for £200! I just hope my £1500 auto will be OK in the hotel safe...

Yes people buy rolex and they buy tudor.
Most watchproducers include displays on all watches, unless it is some kind of vintage remake then they tend to have the iconic caseback there. Everyone uses casebacks becasue it's at least 50% of the value maybe for most customers, to have it so that they can flip it over and look at it or show it off to someone, the beauty that runs the whole thing, what makes it special etc etc.

Rolex... for some reason, has not gotten the memo, they are still riding on their brand logo a lot more than anything else I guess.

Parnis is actually not a single company. Its a collection of people/factories/designers. They have all kinds of stuff thats hard to acquire or discontinued. If you search aliexpress there is just tonnes of it. Then you search ebay there is loads more and its different again.

Then you find Parnis official website at top of google and the homepage has a 2017 halloween theme. Then you find other websites with different watches.

They are tricky to pin down but all of it looks good. Their rolex ripoffs were well received by youtube reviewers, as were the panerai.
