part of the problem is how fast trends move now, social media/the internet means everything gets oversaturated so fucking fast. skinny jeans took years to become accepted and cool...these sneakers took months to spread and are now not even cool anymore, all within a year. this has been happening with all specific trends. the fake freckle thing only lasted a couple months because it spread so fast.

That's not really a problem on its own. If anything trends will cycle back into relevance sooner, like the "chunky" aesthetic used in high tops from the late 2000s to early 2010s carried over to running shoes now. There's so many more choices and variations of styles and brands to choose from because of social media - which is more of a good thing for the educated consumer
