So they simplify their product range and break it into clearly-defined lines. Prospex for reasonably-priced sports watches and Presage for reasonably-priced casual-to-dressy waches. GS and Credor become their own lines. That makes it much easier to understand and justify the price.

The 9F movement is absurdly accurate.
Their mechanical movements are, let's be honest, nothing special, even the hi-beat ones.
The Spring Drive is a meme and sounds great until you need to have it serviced.

All their non-quartz watches are thick as fuck too. The 9F quartz watches are much thinner and are accurate to +/- 10 seconds per year (or 5 seconds if you get one of the special starred versions).

If it's the finishing you're after, all Grand Seikos get that.

Bottom line, spend your money on quartz, a technology that Seiko has been a pioneer in since the beginning, that Seiko has spend decades perfecting.

Thanks man! Your advice definitely helped in buying this watch. I really like it so far. The bracelet fits perfectly, but I would have preferred an oyster style bracelet. Can't complain though, for $200 you get solid endlinks, milled clasp, and matching finishing on your vintage sub. I'll eventually buy a real bracelet to satisfy my autism though.

Grey is either stock an AD couldn't sell in store so they get rid of it on the grey market, or it's simply an online store that doesn't have a brick and mortar presence so can reduce the commission. However you will certainly not get the real guarantee from the manufacture as that's restricted to an AD sale.

Buying from an AD means you are 100% sure to get the real thing with no risk and a full set of legitimate papers and service guarantee.
