Let me explain in one more way about what I mean by a watch being respectable. I think this is the best description yet: You go to a doctor's visit and your doctor is wearing a Rolex. Do you feel embarrassed by having a Tissot or like no big deal, they're both great watches even though his costs a ton more? You're in a business meeting and a rich executive is wearing a Breitling, do you feel embarrassed or that even though his watch is so much more expensive, that yours is still worth of respect, despite the price difference. I would absolutely NOT feel embarrassed wearing an Oris watch in either one of those situations--just different and a matter of preference VERSUS buying it because I can't afford a super expensive watch. I'm just still trying to get a better idea of the Tissot brand though. I'm sure this makes pretty good sense. If I was wearing a Seiko, I would feel utterly embarrassed amongst those other watches.

The 65 is a silly choice for a diver, it is really a dive-style watch HOWEVER, 100m will suit most casual diving enthusiasts. The Aquis line comes with proper water resistance, but I personally don't care much for the look of most of them, but are an acceptable muh 200m resistance diver. The Aquis with the mechanical depth gauge is interesting af, and is the first of its kind.

Got the Yobokies steel shroud for my solar tuna. Don't order one unless you are prepared to modify it slightly to fit correctly (it was designed for the older, JDM only solar tunas and requires some minor finessing to fit on the newer ones). Also, the stock shroud screws strip absurdly easily so be very careful.

Those caveats noted, the steel shroud is really nice once installed and turns this SNE497 into what is pretty much my ideal tough analogue quartz watch.

I bought that Speedmaster because I wanted a Lemania 5100, specifically. That design also matches the air force spec the Lemania 5100 was often used to meet, and very similar designs were produced by several European watchmakers at the time to fulfil those air force contracts.

There is a moonwatch cased Lemania 5100 Speedmaster, but it's > 15x as expensive due to rarity.

The Lemania 5100 is fairly legendary for its reliability. The only part that tends to wrong on them is the chronograph reset springs eventually wear out. Also, if it was ever serviced by an idiot who put the delrin parts in the ultra sonic cleaner, that can also be an issue.

As far as I know, parts supplies for the L5100 remain plentiful as well. I have already had the chronograph reset spring replaced in mine, and have a spare stashed away for a few decades from now when the spring needs replacement again.
