Those are also troublesome. The waistcoat looks thin and flimsy, in addition to being too short, giving him a "prom/wedding rental" appearance, but I don't know if that's the case there. He'd be better off without that tie, at least, and wearing a more traditional one. A solid wool tie, a striped repp tie, or a knit tie would be improvements.
