If you'll be tucking in try to get mid/high rise pants. Tucking with low rise splits your body in an almost perfect half and it just looks bad.
Some slim pants will work but overall I think straight/loose look better when tucking in. With either no break or ankle length.
For tops, the only prints I've seen that work are band tees. Otherwise plain tees are fine. I prefer a thicker fabric because I feel they drape better, but either way works fine.
It's also been becoming more common lately, so don't be afraid to go out like that and get weird looks, most of the time it'll all be in your head.
