I know winter's over, but I need help choosing between these two jackets for when November arrives.

If I had to choose one (especially for one to last forever to close to it), which would you choose?

they are both kind of gross (Volcom one moreso). maybe consider a more versatile offering from REI, Mountain Hardware, North Face, Patagonia, etc.

I dunno, North Face and Patagonia are a bit overpriced with North Face being too stuffy. Mountain Hardwear is good but not amazing.

REI is mainly a hodgepodge of those 3 above, along with other brands like Columbia.

I'm trying to move on to the next step and find stuff that's a little more versatile in design. It's not like I'll hang out in Alaska or Upstate New York (last semester is next fall, that is) or Massachusetts, but it'll be nice to have stuff that looks a little better.

Volcom, I can understand being gross. Brown is not appealing, but the design looks pretty cool.

Didrikson's is simplicity at best based on the way it looks.

That shit costs a fucking fortune. No way in hell am I dropping $1300 on that shit, even when it looks the same as Didriksons without the logo.

I think you could cop something great on sale, esp. since it's off season rn. If you are adamant on choosing between the two, go for the Didrikson.
Just be aware that amazon is not a good place for clothing deals

I understand, but it's not like I live in the city and I'm relatively new to clothes shopping. I don't care as much about being fashionable, I just want stuff that looks good and wears well.

Nah, I don't like Columbias stuff anymore. Not really top of the line as it advertises itself to be

It's Costo pizza level stuff at best.
