I tested lots of them, recognized some, but From Paris to New York really caught my attention, everyone on fragrantica is saying it's a clone of Dior Homme Cologne, which is true I guess, but it also reminded me of Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Universalis Forte (the sample for which cost me as much as the full Zara bottle lel), and the longevity on Zara might even be better.

I also got myself Zara Rich-Warm-Addictive which is a nice warm scent, and at this price point I honestly don't care if I'm gonna grow tired of it or whatever, this shit is so much better than copping 200$ bottles I have to say.

The thing is though, all of those are just "choices." The problem with all of these mass appealing designer fragrances is that they all literally overlap in not only functionality but also lineage.

You got GIT, but you also got Acqua di Gio, Bleu de chanel, aventus, and Sauvage, all of which not only follow the same lineage (by influence and aromachemical technology), but also do the exact same thing: fresh, clean, woody and diffusive.

Then you got Le Male, Ultra Male, The One, Boss Bottled, Burberry Brit, all of which also do the exact same thing: sweet/spicy, oriental, evening wear. You could keep just one from each category and your collection would be much improved and less cluttered.

I own a bottle of Burberry Brit Rhythm Intense and it's a nice frag and all but I feel it's a frag I only tend to wear when I'm in the mood.
I'd love a cosy autumn to spring frag casually, something I can go light in in September, then add an extra spray or two to cut through the cold and my layered clothing.
I've tried London and I'm still undecided on getting a bottle, it feels nice but are there better frags like it? I loved the cosiness of it a ton when I tried it back in December...

Got my hands on a sample today. Bit of a let down but thats just because I was expecting something different. Very floral. Floral as fuck. Not necessarily a bad thing but I was hoping it would have been more balanced. Not as fruity as I would have hoped, light citrus. I was really hoping for a more tropical fruit note, a little banana that was done so well in bat should have been here. I do like that it interestingly has that "salty sun kissed skin" note. It really does smell like I was at the beach earlier today. A little woody but I wouldnt call this woody at all. I have never smelled beach hut, but beach hut is a suiting name for this fragrance. Definitely leans feminine but a a guy could pull this off in summer somewhere warm. Spring/Summer fragrance. Im trying Dodo tomorrow so standby for a review

tldr: Floral, semi sweet, citrus.

I have a bottle coming (Dodo as well), should be here sometime next week. Actually sounds like exactly what I wanted. It makes sense though. Emulating a chameleon up in the trees catching the breeze. You wont be disappointed then. I just wish there was a more prominent fruit note than just citrus. Mango and coconut are supposedly in there but I have had my nose to my skin for a while and cant pick it up. Maybe they are lending some of the "sweetness" in the background but note wise they are undetectable and I've got a pretty good nose

Depends a lot on your skin, too. Some notes just don’t come through as prominently on some people’s skin. Like, Fragrantica has several reviews saying it’s very tropical, sweet, and fruity. One person specifically mentions smelling banana.

I guess it’s kinda like how when I’ve worn Aventus (several samples from different batches), I get almost no pineapple at all, even batches that are supposed to be super fruity. I can smell the pineapple on paper, but on my skin, nothing.

>> No.14172318

Not joking, I actually disliked it a lot so imo it's still risky. It's just so fawking powdery on the drydown to an insane degree and the start is so weird and prickly. Prada Amber pour homme destroys it to me on all levels. I think I am in the 1% minority though.

I am the anon who did the chameleon above. I got a sample of this as well among some Imaginary Author samples from lucky scent. But I digress.

Dodo: Fougere. Major fern and fir blast. I have never smelled a real Fougere before and this blew me away. It is very potent. Strange but I cant stop smelling it, very inviting. Has a similar saltiness to the "sun kissed" I mentioned in chameleon but this is less playful and beachy, more just ambergis. You can notice the sandalwood but its not loud. I can also notice the citrus but I didnt pick up the rasberry (could be my skin). No idea what Litchi is supposed to smell like so I cant comment on that. Animalic for sure, you can tell there is musk. Some floral notes (Rose) but not even close to chameleon floral bomb.

Overall I like it, Id wear it for sure. As with all zoologist you wear it for you not others. I cant think of an occasion to wear it but it smells like I ran through some strange island forest.

Dude it basically just smells like superlaundry, yes it has industrial aromachemicals in it which balance in a very epic way with themusky chypre base. If you’re that much of a pussy just spray once on your chest from like 2 feet away. I go 2 regular sprays, one on my chest and one on the back of the neck. Here, adding on more.

Yes, people get very dramatic about Kouros nowadays, but it's always been a polarizing scent. If you go as far back as possible on basenotes or fragrantica, there are people saying it smells horrible (and it used to be even stronger than it is today!).

With that being said, the modern formulation is almost tame in comparison and shares similarities with many other Pierre Bourdon fragrances. Yes it will smell harsh if you put a concentrated spray on one amount and then sniff it closely. The sillage and projection smell like fresh soap and ancient incense. It's that juxtaposition which makes it so interesting.

Hey there two anons asked me continue my little reviews so I'll keep going I was the zoologist review guy who also got some IA samples. Specifically Cape heartache and Every Storm a Serenade. I had to try CdG Hinoki and I'll do that later too.

Cape Heartache: It smells like a Christmas tree. Does anybody else notice that? Very deep pine and fir smells. Holiday scent for sure and a fall/winter no brainer. This is northwest US in a bottle. I feel almost unauthentic wearing it here in the southeast. It smells like a place I've seen in pictures but have never been to. I think my skin absorbs some sweet smells so the "too strong" strawberry note some complain about is unfounded with me. It is there but it just adds a little sweet to the woods, which in my opinion is quite nice. A little vanilla and a little smoky. Surprised this doesn't come up more in /frag/ threads in the colder months. My gripe (if its even a gripe, it doesn't bother me much) is that this doesn't really evolve or change. IA takes flak from being "One dimensional" which I don't really mind if its a pleasant scent.

Overall: on my skin its a very nice colder weather scent. Too late in the season to buy it now but its on my list for next fall/winter

Kouros Silver, there's not much of the original DNA but it's a very appropiate for the summer, sort of a Invictus with prominent apple. If you look on Fragrantica there are a lot of Kouros flankers that are marketed for hotter weather, but unfortunately I am not sure if these are still made.

Autism is only present online, there's nothing more to it than liking a certain smell. Start by watching youtube videos so you have a list of what to try when going to a department store. Most of the designers top 10 lists should be available in every Sephora, Macys, Nordstrom etc.

performance is not that great but It's a great fragrance that will work in the upcoming spring/summer season. Even office safe.
>>14182733
Well, it's different from Body Kouros. Prada Amber Pour homme is definitely a unique scent, and I would best describe it as a very expensive clean soapy smell. My nose mostly picks up the myrrh (a scent that everyone from Eastern Europe is accustomed with) with a rich warm and creamy vanilla undertone. In the drydown I can sense more of the white florals.
>>14182893
Unfortunately this is Prada's response to the Ambroxan 'blue' fragrance trend started several years ago, but they managed to pull in a little more class (probably with the lavender) from the likes Sauvage, Bleu de Chanel etc.. Yes, this will be loved by the female counterpart and is office safe. My favorite is the Carbon flanker.
>>14183264
Have you tried Notino? They have samples of all the popular niches and even some obscure designers.
>>14183360
I would say it's about 95% the same as ADG and has better performance.
>>14183398
Fantastic scent, probably my favorite from Chanel. It's basically spring in a bottle. I'd say it's very much a fresh out of the shower type scent for a woman. Green notes subdued by a little powdery iris with a more developing heart towards the drydown . This is definitely a perfume for matured pallets, definitely a counterpart to the ever so popular 'criminally' sweet fragrances in the vein of La vie est belle.
