Should I cop?

It always blows me away how some of you on here have the balls to wear certain things in public. I give you credit. So what essentially is Luna core? A nostromo jacket? Lmao

Wearing clothing that use non-conventional materials and patterns to create outfits that look like they could be worn in space or the future.

At its core (no pun intended), lunarcore is a style of fashion that, though it seeks to mimic the clothes worn by the astronauts of decades back and heroes of the numerous sci-fi novels and films that have been penned and filmed, is mostly inspired by the wearer’s own imagination and whatever boundaries he or she is comfortable with pushing.

I for one am a practitioner of thesaurus core (/tssc/) where you pick a random word and add core to the back of it.

Right now I'm into compensation core.

Jackets

Since they’re found on the top layer of a lunarcore fit, jackets are thus one of the most crucial pieces to lunarcore fashion as a whole. Though, as is the case with most lunarcore fashion, there’s no real guidelines as to what makes a jacket inherently lunarcore.

Pants

The idea of playfulness and imagination that is so prevalent in lunar fashion carries over to the pants side as well. Although it’s entirely possible to make a lunarcore fit while wearing a pair of J Crew and Dockers chinos, said fits are few and far between, as many people who dress in a lunar way prefer instead to further use pants to play around with color and shape, which is something that just throwing any old pair of chinos on doesn’t really accomplish (most of the time; if the wearer wants to make the fit top heavy to add contrast then I suppose a pair of color-appropriate chinos could work). Cargo pockets, bagginess, and unusual fabrics (i.e. hologram and reflective denim) tend to run wild in this category.Things like overalls and jumpsuits are fun pieces to play with because they can fit into the fiction of your fit.

I'm no diehard larper, but essentially the idea is to wear clothes that give a sense of utility, but with an image that represents the imagination of the science fiction theme.

The idea is we're prepared to be working in environments that require utilitarian clothing rather than anything flashy or trendy or whatever.

Lunarcore is also about form following function. Lunar/space exploration gear is all about working and surviving in space or on other worlds. Everything is oriented on utility, purpose, and function. If it's not "mission oriented" you don't need it. It's a clean and streamlined look.

I've bought both Palladiums and cheap milsurp-lookin' chinese boots and I would choose Palladiums everytime. I love the way they look (more subtle than milsurp), they hold up longer, and you can find them at a pretty hefty discount on ebay on the regular. I've bought Palladiums that retail on their website for $125 for $30 on ebay, brand new.

Plus Palladium is having their St. Patrick's day sale on their website right now which gives you a code for 20% off sitewide, and a bunch of their styles are already on discount. I just bought some new style of theirs that I haven't tried yet, I'll report back on the quality when they come in the mail.

(Also note these boots run narrow in my experience, I'd size up)

My only real criticism is that they tend to run narrow, they're fairly flat soled (not as flat as Converse tho) but that can be fixed by changing the insoles, and they have no grip in wet conditions. But other than that they're awesome lightweight lunarcore boots! The canvas ones breathe much easier in hot weather than traditional leather boots, too.
