I owned this watch once, until it was stolen by a maid that promptly fled into the woodwork.
I don't like omega, not when I owned that watch, and certainly not now.
However I still maintain that it's the nicest seamaster design of all, not counting the vintage model upon which this one takes inspiration.

No fancy meme movements but a dependable ETA.
Dark dial, white indices for great visibility, day or night.
A date window that actually matches the dial colour.
Sword hands.
Comfortable bracelet.
Etc.

The 2254.50 is a good, dependable model that was overshadowed by the blue wave dial model worn by Brosnan as Bond.
I maintain that it's the more attractive piece.
Is it "worth it", no. But it's not particularly expensive in the grand scheme of things.
But if you like it, and don't pay too much for a used one, then you won't complain.

The only other omega, not including vintage stuff from the 50's, that has ever tempted me is the iteration of the Railmaster about a decade ago.
Didn't have the money for one at the time, and I can't find that model anywhere used.
The new one uses the fancy prancy meme movements that I don't care to deal with, and the dial design is shit in comparison.

Thanks for sharing your experience with this watch. I just hate the skeleton hands on the seamasters, and much prefer the legibility and overall design of this older model.

I've also read that it's quite thin for a diver, which is a big plus for me. I like practical, comfortable and good looking watches. I'm pretty sure that in the end I'll end buying either the 2254.50 or the 2264.50, since I actually like quartz as well.

On the other hand, vintage ones like "traktor" pattern are still esteemed and considered as icon of proudly independent national manufacture of yesteryears. Don't pay attention to the 'ambassadors' of any watch company. Just buy what sings to you. Have you tried on this Seamaster yet? It's awesome.

I've thought for a long time to pick one up myself. It's essentially the same watch internally as my current daily wear, but in my view the black sword hand variant is far more applicable to legibility as a dive watch. And yes, it is quite thin, so it fits under cuffs easily.

On a different note...does anyone here collect pocket watches? I'm looking seriously into this now, but I don't know if anyone here cares about it or not.
