They just aren't necessary. All you need is odor control, and mineral salts on your armpit skin do a great job at inhibiting the growth of bacteria which cause body odor. Baque, I’m not sure about. Kinda similar to Kiste, but more animalic and darker. May cop, but might be redundant with Kiste.

Didn’t like Ore. had this very animalic Oud-y thing going that I didn’t care for. Kind of reminded me of some of Roja’s more Oud-y scents, which I also don’t care for. Pass.

This is what I use. It's both antiperspirant and deodorant and it lasts at least a full day. Some sticks I find irritate my skin a little but not this one. Also has a really nice scent similar to a high quality shaving cream, but don't fret cause it's super subtle and won't clash with any frag you wear. The only downside really is that it's expensive, something like $25CAD per stick, but I haven't found anything better.

What makes Fahrenheit dated? Geniunely curious as I don’t get that association. To me it’s a very outdoorsy scent with the oranges, violet leaf, and wildflowers mixing with the burnt woods in the drydown. I think it’s very modern if anything, the iso-e super gives it similarities with TDH in the deep drydown and its this smell which holds up the base 90% of “modern” masculine colognes too.

It has the vibe of an 80s powerhouse because it is one. It was the Sauvage of its time. Wearing Sauvage in 2040 is gonna feel dated as well, because the DNA as a whole will be associated with the 2010s.

It was released in 88 so it was only in the 80s for two years. I associate it more with the 90s if anything because thats when it was actually popular. But with that being said, barely anybody my age (mid 20s) knows it so it completely avoids the “dated” effect. I’m not telling you thag you need to love Fahrenheit or that my taste is better than yours. It’s just a great frag that IMO still feels modern and doesn’t stick out as extremely dated to me.

I agree with this. These things are pretty cyclical. Fahrenheit was ubiquitous, but at this point, very few people know it anymore, so it doesn’t smell “dated” because people don’t have that 80s/90s association with it anymore for the most part. Will be the same wearing Sauvage in 20 years. Some new hot frag will come and bumb Sauvage off it’s pedestal within the next couple years, and in 20 years’ time, so few people will be wearing Sauvage that it will be new and distinct to most people again.

Plus, Fahrenheit really is a great frag. It’d be a shame for people to not wear it just because they think it’s “dated”. It’s just too snice for that.

Got my Carven LI today. Interesting stuff. I was expecting something a little more aldehylic, a little more sparkling, but it’s snice nonetheless. There is something in the opening I don’t love. Not entirely sure what it is, I smell it a lot in designer frags and it puts me off. It goes away pretty quick, though, so that’s good. When it starts to dry, it kind of reminds me a bit of a mix of Creed Royal Water, with just a touch of Aventus. I imagine that’s probably the citrus and birch giving me that. It’s pretty clean, a bit soapy, a bit green, should be an easy dumb reach for summertime.

There are multiple factors that cause fragrance to disappear from skin. Major ones are:

Literally dislodges the fragrance' molecules so that they float away.

>Dehydration.
Skin absorbs shit like crazy. Staying hydrated and using a moisturizer will help a lot.

I find it best to use something heavily occlusive, like a barrier between your skin and the fragrance. Silicone-based makeup primer and petroleum jelly/vaseline are the best.

Just got this in the mail, and it's incredible. Huge opening of resin, menthol, warm wood, cinnamon, and slight fruits. Dries down to an almost spiced apple pie accord, with plenty of leather, wood, slight menthol and barnyard notes. Lasts all damn day. Best oud oil I've tried yet.

Yeah, not cheap, but it will last quite a while. I use clones of niche/designer fragrances now and then as well to make sure I don't use up my oud too fast. Right now I've been alternating between oud, White Amber by creed (just a 2.5ml sample I have of it), and an oil based clone of Tuscan leather that smells identical and performs better.

Ain't nothin' like pure oud oil though.
