While GS has been praised in the past there has been a big increase in negative comments about all the recent GS upmarket push. One of the biggest pro's in a GS was it was great quality at a cheaper price than the competing brands. Now they are directly competing at the same price point and those buyers are now not so favourable to GS.

I'm planning on buying myself something for the first time in years and I've wanted a good watch for AGES. One of those mall jewelry store (Zalez I think) had a watch that looked similar to pic related. I fell in love with it but I'm wondering if I should spend that much on a watch I can really only wear to 'fancy' events.

Thoughts on Bulova? On Zalez? How about on "expensive" watches (this one was about $400).

Divers can wear quite small though as they have a small dial compared to the case. These are about the same size (41mm) but the Zeppelin looks like a dinner plate compared as it's all dial.
