You can get sapphires cheap for the more popular Seiko divers like the skx, 7002, 7548, etc. it’s not hard to install. A 10$ press from amazon and a YouTube video later and it’s a pretty easy swap. Likewise most shops won’t charge much for a crystal change.
or if you wanted a “new to you” watch with a sapphire you could just buy one that’s already been modded.

Not like that’s even a big deal though as they quickly fixed it.

I know there are some Accutronfags here.

I have a 214 that was serviced a few years ago and I'm having a few issues, namely it stopping during the day and picking back up after I tap it and less importantly it's a pain to set. I know only to set it by turning the hands clockwise, but it sometimes turns without catching the hands.

I'm using an Accucell battery, maybe I need to use something else with more juice?
Any tips for either of these? Though pretty sure the hands probably is going to require a big service.

But that is plain retarded as the US Air-force was significantly less relevant and accomplished in the War (especially in the European Theater) then the Luftwaffe, or RAF.
If you *actually* care about winning and significance, then maybe there is a point to be made for RAF watches.
But obsessing over who won the war says nothing about the qualities of the watch, so it is practically irrelevant.

1 is the most basic soulless watch design you can get outside of some Bauhaus shitter.

2 is like a Submariner or GMT, but more fun and unique.

Vintage explorer 1s with the more rounded, printed Arabic numerals and domed crystals are cool though. A bit small perhaps for me personally.

What are you talking about?

Yes, watches are already getting smaller.
Also, It's not any easier to service "larger" movements, they are and have been pretty consistent in sizes for quite a while now, the movement for a 36mm rolex fits a 44mm rolex, eta-base movements go in hundreds of watches in different sizes, so what's you point?

Most women's watches are quartz because women can't be bothered to set the time on what is basically jewelry for them.
