I know there are some Accutronfags here.
I have a 214 that was serviced a few years ago and I'm having a few issues, namely it stopping during the day and picking back up after I tap it and less importantly it's a pain to set. I know only to set it by turning the hands clockwise, but it sometimes turns without catching the hands.

I'm using an Accucell battery, maybe I need to use something else with more juice?
Any tips for either of these? Though pretty sure the hands probably is going to require a big service.

Post your perfect watch that doesn't exist.

My pick:

I'd love your watch if it didn't have lume on the hands and markers, only on the dial, the way Damasko does it. It ends up being easier to read. Speaking of which, you might find a Damasko that is close enough to what you want.
As for me, either a handwound no date 37mm pic related OR an SBGW235 that is thinner, has a power reserve on the back, beats at around 21600 (I like the sound more than 28800) and has the proper, THICC GS hands. I swear, the only real problem I have with that watch are its folded hands. They look fine and they're very well polished, but they're not the lovely multifaceted hands that other Grands Seikos have.

Be honest, has watch collecting made any of you any happier? For me it hasn't. Everytime I want a new watch I can look at pictures of it on the internet for months and I'll convince myself that it's the perfect watch and I'll never want another one, but once I actually have it I don't even like it anymore and start lusting after another watch. It's a fucking never ending cycle and I'm never satisfied.

>> No.14073568

According to the TV show monkey magic, desire can never be satisfied. Instead of how a watch looks maybe you need to learn to appreciate them on a fundamentally deeper level and adjust your taste accordingly.

That's could be applied to consumerism in general. Buying stuff because you think it'll make you happy.

Also everyone when they start collecting makes mistakes. Buying watches you find out you don't actually like once delivered or find out there is actually a better model or brand you only discovered after the fact.

Do that, you'll feel much better.

Whenever I buy a new watch I always wear the hell out of it. Never buy one to simply own it. Use it. Same advice applies to all the stuff you mentioned.

Now I own so many watches I can choose one to fit my mood on any day. Yes they make me happy :)

your concept of "western civilization" is what has to fall and will fall. The subulation between west and east is dialectical and absolutely historically impossible to prevent it has always happened and always will thats a good thing it means humanity overall evolves and progresses each time at an even faster rate it indeed becomes more humanitarian socially/culturally too, it's an ascending species discarding the bad beliefs and ideology that keep them down slowly but surely.

what made that emigration a necessity for them? could be the imperialist history and the systems used to hoard by that "west"? yeah, that was it.

you "west" created it's own conditions by the things you praise as "fair" to have that to happen to it, now out of necessity it will be subulated and thats good. Lesson learned. The EU itself is proof of that historical lesson learned. People care less and less about Nation mindsets, now it's supranational, now it's global. And that means it's over. The standard of "what is freedom" is something that humankind (not an ethnicity or a race) will have to agree on as a whole. Humanism was unstoppable from the start.
